Well its almost done

My wife has had me a working and its been cutting in to my hunting time here is what I have been working on so if you need a hair cut stop by

http://www.roanoke.com/community/th...1a4bcf6878.html

Speaking of hunting this morning I buried ole Rascal she was born here 9/23/2001 she went blind about a year ago and had been going down hill ever since as I dug the hole to put her this morning on the side of the mountain were her parents Sam and Dottie along with grandparents great and great great and great great great grandparents aunts uncles and so on I thought back across the years and the dogs I have owned it made me wonder if the good Lord will see fit for a spot in heaven for a hounds man to have a kennel of hounds he owned a place to turn loose and listen to them run how sweet it would be to hear there voices ring the mountains one more time all of them together what a blast it would be while I am not sure if he has that in his master plan one thing I know for sure it want happen in the other place thats for sure

Ole Rascal I never competition hunted her she never had a tittle and while she was not as good as here Dad by no means ole Sam was a good one a carbon copy of his Mom Auroura or maybe a better I liked em both I should have named Sam lucky he lost a testicle in a hunting accident and an eye in anther at a early age but it never slowed him down but before he ever got her I almost lost his Mom she would run a tree and flip backwards she did that one night and landed on a pine log and run a pine stub plum there here side and into her lung pulled her off with her lung leaking air Lyndell said what ya going to o nothing I can do I said she own her lets go ahead and knock the coon out she jumped in there and fought it like nothing was wrong lead her out of the mountain with skin blowing out like a sack she was leaking so much air Rascal's Mom ole Dot was as cold nosed as thy come Linkous cussed her a many of a night but I seen her tree a lot of them ole bad tracks one summer night about 3 in the morning I was laying on the tailgate and Linkous was laying on the dog box saying you need to get that ole cuss she will never tree that one but she proved him wrong

But anyway back to Rascal she was the dog I started Willow with and at 8 years old I had never breed her I breed her and put her up and broke out her Dad ole Sam who at 12 had been in the pen for about 3 years when I broke him out Justin who had never hunted with him had only heard stories about how he hunted and the coons he would tree after hunting a few nights he said I thought he hunted deep and would not come back I said just hold own he is not in shape yet in about 2 weeks he said good lord how in world did you hunt him while he was young I just laughed ans said you know when you turned Sam loose you had better have your boots laced up and ready to go coon hunting the last week end of kill season that year we hunted Craigs Creek one night and Poverty Creek the next treed 12 coons in them 2 nights but I am off track again ole rascal who I had not hunted since she had pups for about 3 years a couple of summers ago I had to break her out Willow was in heat and so was her daughter Samantha so I broke her back out and was hunting 2 pups with her neither dog was much of a tree dog would run in and tree for a few minutes than go to milling or running backwards but Rascal would stay glued to the tree which showed me what I had suspected they were leaving a lot of coons well enough rambling

Good afternoon all,

WB,
Sorry for your loss. SOunds like many generations of nice hounds.

John,
Congratulations. Enjoy your evening.

Sending out information to UKC to try to get a new club up and going. Got alot of work to do on the property to get it going but should not be huge deal. We are working on having field trials, water races and HTX hunts in addition to the nite hunts. Also going to hit up some buddy hunts and have keep a running tally of all members and the highest scoring member wins something.

I am hoping we can make this a very successful club for the boys. Right now we have about 12 young boys in with us and once we get everything set up we are going to let them "run" there own club with officers and all.

So might have to get me some bench show judges lined up.

Praying for Shannons family.
Prayers to all in need.

Good Afternoon!

PRAYERS TO ALL! Shannon and Bond we are so sorry for both of your losses. Shannon, your grandmother will live on in your hearts... Bond, we hope the new place is AWESOME for your wife!!!! We also feel that your Rascal will still be on your hunts... you'll just be carrying her in your own heart....

HOT here. Was hot for the weekend. Ended up too hot to go out to mum's garden SO... we "read" a book all weekend. It was the same reader we have enjoyed on a few mysteries now...his voice is great and the author has fun with his stories... it was a BLAST! I got a bit of stuf done too but barely...LOL... Mum hated to see me leave but has me for 3 days this week since Bob and I will go there on the 4th and I will stay thru sunday. Bob will get to see the big flyover in full glory on the 4th over the Esplanade for the Boston Fire works... He WILL be outside for that! THey fly over our house too, here on the way back and forth BUT... this will be WAY more cool for him. We will try to walk to an area we will view some fireworks...if the weather is nice. OR we'll watch it on tv we'll see...lol..
Bob is working outside with rocks...on the hardscape. TOo hot to be out with the laptop today so I'm inside. I'm sleepy too........well see if I get thru all my catching up?
Thanks for the prayers. Haven't heard from the Bremilsts since Friday. I'm not sure if they got transport for Bob to join the fam there or not? Sad.. suicide is the worst thing on a family I imagine.... and that poor little boy! He will be surrounded by LOVE and good people if he comes to MA though... THe Bremilsts run a good 4H group and do mostly rabbits and poultry but their owb kids did sheep and goats and cows too. Around here that is a big deal so it is a great experience for a child.
Well, I've got Bob home here till the 14th or so and I have NO CLUE what we might do? We already have the tent set out back to stay in... so it can air out. It smells like a combo of curdled milk and vomit at present...LOL... SO I'm hopeful lysol will take that away or I'll stay in the open air! lol... When I went to see it a momma turkey and babes were there..and I frightened them. Momma got to the other side of fence and babies were scattered and panicked.. so I did what I had to... I know there is a low spot in fence BUT I also made a hole in the bottom in another area and then I herded them back and forth till all got thru. Even the teeny tiny little runt! During the process a cardinal pair and 4 robins were furious at me... and I found 2 robins nests high in the pines and the cardinal nest in the middle of my climbing wild rose... so I tried to get a couple pix and wandered to the mulberry for a snack. I heard the racket till I finally filled my belly and moved on... the robins felt I was still too close...lol...
SO, that's wassup here... Good Old Hot Dry summer with some rain later this week we hope...but we hope not on the 4th!
have a Great Day all and HappyHunting too! Heather

Good evening gang. Seems like 92 was the magic number because that was the temp when I got off work today. Supposed to be hot tomorrow then cool down some.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for our anniversary. Not getting remarried or nothing like that and we didn't go on a coon hunting date. She went coon hunting quite a bit before we got married once we got married that was the end of her hunting.

Corky - hope it heals fast.

Rob - I have also had a lot of em I am glad I don't have to hunt with again

Heather - I hope you get the rain you need.

Prayers for all, stay cool and have a great evening.

53 years ago today my wife and I stood in front of the altar and spoke our vows. We are still in love and has been a good 53 years. I some time wonder how she put up with me all these years. I know it is not easy being a coon hunters wife.
