Last nights hunt. Two young hounds out of Jack. We treed several coon. Both dogs also were turn out alone each treeing coon. Season is in here. We put a couple out on the hounds and left several to tree another day. Dogs looked good and it was an enjoyable hunt. Always have a good time hunting with my good friend John Bishop. Below are pics of last nights hunt.

Mike Dunn owner of Harpeth River Blue Jack in Cullman, AL also owns an older full sister to Jack. Mike would like to trade her to someone that is interested in breeding her. Mike will trade her for 2 pups from her litter. Jack's sister comes from a proven cross. She is a nice hard tree dog. She has a UKC 1st were she scored 950 plus.She is a show CH. Hunted(Krypt) my young male out of Jack last night in the snow. Our snow came when our deer season came in, so I haven't been able to go coon hunting for the last 4 days. I was finally able to go last night. I wanted to see how Krypt would do in the snow, temp was about 29 degrees with several inches of snow. First tree was a den at 400 yards in no track just fell treed. Second tree was a den, Krypt made a loop and fell treed 60 yds from the truck, I caught a glimpse of an eye in the den. Third tree was a den. Once again no track fell treed 960 yards in. Fourth tree, fell treed close to the truck, tree had a large nest in it. I also, had one drop with out a bark, picked him up little over half mile away crossing a road. I felt like he did a pretty fair job last night.

I decided to give my young dog "Krypt" a short hunt tonight. I wanted to put him in some tough situations to see how he would handle and operate. Tonight with the temps, snow , a little wind and moon, I was wanting it tough on him. Conditions were 14 degrees with several inches of snow and bright out. It was just me and Krypt. First drop he fires in there good and falls treed at 400 yards, is treeing very hard. Its a ash tree going up into 2 large oaks. I couldn't find the coon. Krypt was treed right and sure thought he had it and so did I. He rarely misses.My second drop was in a section that is a tough section to tree coons in no matter what time of year or weathers condtions.I really wasn't expecting much in the area but I wanted to keep making it tougher on him . I cut him loose, he makes about a 100 yard loop around behind me, then heads out. He falls treed at 500 yards in. He is treed in a tree that is thick and has low hanging limbs that tie into several hedge trees. I couldn't find the coon. It was a tough night. I was pleased with how he hunted and handle the conditions. He was ready for more, but the temps were starting to drop quick I thought it best we call it a night.
