Torque is owned by Chris Halverson. Chris and I own the Sky female together. I don't have a real pic of Torque but I'll post his ad. I have some pics of Chris' other dogs that I'll try and post.
From the pic of your dog, he has a real similar head to Chris' dogs. Yours has more white (which I like) than Chris' dogs. The 3 pups that were born Friday are all colored up.
I'm not real sure on the Southern Cross stuff, although I do believe it is some Finley River stuff.

How many times does the above pup go back to Ol' Chief?
With that pedigree, would you consider her a "Finley River bred" dog?
How was Johnson's Danny boy bred?
I'd wish I go go back another 2-3 generations....

They are bred pretty similar to most of Chris' stock of dogs.
I know very little about most the dogs in the pedigrees of this line of dogs but from what I've gathered most were well balanced dogs, most of which were never nitehunted.
IMO they seem to be the total package, balanced track and tree hounds with good mouths, houndy looks and solid conformation.
I'm more of a Clover fan myself but I sure like them Finley River dogs too.
One thing we were looking for when breeding Sky was to add more mouth and we got it when breeding to Torque. These pups are only 5 months old but have huge mouths. Loudest dog I've had here. Sky's littermate brother has a big loud, good carrying mouth but Sky does not. I sure don't think breeding to Torque hurt anything. Chris' Torque, Cam, and Sable all have huge mouths. Looks like the Sky x Torque pups will be the same.

My old Gr. Nt. Browns Peggy went back to this cross three times. Once through Gr. Nt. Finley River Joe and two more times through his brother Gr. Nt. Harrod's Ky. River Chief. She was a good balance hound with a cold nose and very accurate. Not a real hard treedog but could move a track good and had a good temperment. One of the better hounds I have owned.
