Thanks Dennis, Yes he was a looker , late starter, but turned into a coon treeing machine. We use to hunt down along the river(Wabash River) that separates Illinois and Indiana back when they had crops in the river bottoms, now it is all government funded land and it's all overgrown brush you can't hardly crawl through. But anyway every year a couple of my good friends would always want to go for at least a couple hunts during season. We would turn down the edge of the river and ol' Trail would many nights tree coons faster than I could skin one out, one right after another. Back then I could skin a coon pretty quick. Ol' Trail sure made me proud and my buddies were always amazed with Trail's coon treeing abilities. He was extremely high percentage on seeing coon. I never got a chance to bred ol' Trail, but back then I never even thought about it and didn't really realize how special he really was. Echo Ridge Blue Bullet Bob and Briner's Blue Brandy were half brother and sister to Trail. I raised and started Trail, I got him when he was 8 weeks old. Trail treed many a coon. Wish I had another just like him, even though he started late, he was definitely worth the wait.

HARPETH RIVER BLUE JACK X MCGINNIS' BLUE THUNDER

I talked with Mike Dunn today and I believe he told me he has 5 pups already spoken for out of this 4th cross. She won't be bred until late August/early September. She normally raises 8 pups. This has been an excellent cross. Pictures of Jack and some of Jack's pups and Jack's ancestors can be seen on back in this thread along with info. Thanks for the interest, Chris

Russ thanks for the compliment on Hardware's pups. Also thanks for sharing your picture of your old Joe bred hound "Crockett" I hunted many, many nights with ole' Crockett. He was a coondog.

This "thread" is now titled "BRINER'S BLUE MIDNIGHT BLUETICKS" This "thread was previously titled"Dual Grand PKC CH Female to be leased for breeding". I have since sold this female. I have chose to change the thread title to more accurately describe what this thread has become. Thank you for your interest. My contact phone number is (618)-553-4754. I am located in Robinson, IL.

HARDWARE - BREEDING INCENTIVE

Hardware is a paid up UKC Performance Sire and a PKC Super Stakes Sire. Hardware has not had a chance to prove himself as a breeder. This is because I have chosen not to push breeding him until now. Hardware currently has one litter of pups on the ground they are around 3 months old. I am interested in seeing how he reproduces. His brother Harpeth River Blue Jack is reproducing very well. I know of a couple other brothers and a sister to Hardware that have also been bred with very good results. Hardware comes from a proven cross that were naturals that started early and are also reproducing very well. Breeding my hounds has never been about money. It been about going forward with the breeding in a positive direction, which I believe thus far I have done, and will continually strive to breed in a positive direction.

THE INCENTIVE FOR THE FIRST 5 (APPROVED) FEMALES BRED TO HARDWARE :

1.) I will pay to UKC Performance register the litter and Permanently UKC Performance the each pup in your litter sired by Hardware.

2.) I will pay to PKC Super Stake register the litter and pay the SS certification Fee on each pup in your litter sired by Hardware.

3.) STUD FEE WILL BE WAVIED-(NO STUD FEE COST)

4.) I WILL HELP YOU ALL I CAN IN SELLING YOUR PUPS AND PLACING THEM IN THE HANDS OF HUNTERS.

<<EXAMPLE>> OF REGISTRATION COSTS THAT WILL BE PAID BY ME IF YOUR FEMALE IS SUCCESSFULLY BRED TO HARDWARE AND HAS 10 PUPS.

UKC COSTS - $275

PKC COSTS - $317

<<EXAMPLE>>TOTAL REGISTRATION COSTS FOR 10 PUPS - $592

AVERAGE STUD FEE : $250

TOTAL MONEY SAVED BY YOU on a litter of 10: $842

The above "Incentive" helps us both. Raising pups can be expensive. It helps you with some of the costs that comes with raising pups. It helps me give Hardware a chance to see how he is going to reproduce. I have no doubt Hardware can be a successful breeder, but proven pups on the ground treeing coons is the proof that most want to see, not words out of my mouth.

Call me (Chris Briner) at 618-553-4754 if you have a fine female that you are ready to breed and raise pups from. Female must be negative brucellosis and approved by me before breeding arrangements will be made. CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS. Thanks Chris.

Thank you much for the kind words Lowell. And you don't owe me anything.

It was nice speaking with you today sounds like the Rattler X Penny pups you bred and raised are doing good. I know the fella in AL that has that male(BLUE MIDNIGHT RIDGE RIPPER) is liking him alot, and from what I seen of that video you had this morning of the females, I must say I'm liking my little female(BLUE MIDNIGHT BAWLING BETTY) you have there a lot too. Keep up the good work with the pups. Your doing an outstanding job. That's right Lowell, call that little female of mine BETTY. Take care, Chris

8-18-12 hunt

The weather has cooled off around here and the hours have slowed some at work. This has made it a little easier for me to run the hounds some. I went hunting last night by myself. I decided to take Zeus and Moe. Zeus hasn't been out for a while and has been waiting anxiously for the call. I hunted them one at a time for a couple drops then turned then loose a couple times together. Zeus, had a long corn field race that ended treed 10 yards from the road and 60 yrds from someones front door. The corn field was 1 mile by 3/4 mile. By the time he made it out of the corn he wore some hair off around his eyes. Came treed hard and intense. I didn't look the tree over very well because of being treed close to the house, I snap a picture and off we went. But was happy with his performance. Moe's turn, Moe was turn loose with nothing happening on one drop, but treed one by himself darn near right off the tailgate. Turn them both together, Zeus opens once, Moe falls treed and Zeus trees right behind him. I seen the coon going in but could not find it once I was in there. Turn them out again together, Zeus trees with Moe backing him. It is a large soft Maple tree, hard to shine, couldn't find the coon. I kept Zeus on the lead and recasted Moe. Moe goes 400 yds hits a track and trees another 100 yds in, which happens to be close to a road. He is in a bad cut over section. He is treed on a very large soft Maple, most likely a den left standing in the cut over. Once again very difficult to shine and I couldn't find the coon. It was getting late so we headed for home. Below are a couple pics of last nights hunt.

Hounds Look Good, Chris

I always enjoy the pictures of the Zeus dog. He for sure looks like a real tree dog in his pictures. 'Ohio River Blue Joe' is doing fine. He is growing like a weed, and going to be a nice made good looking dog. He and my son are pretty good buddies. Hope all is well your way. Talk to you soon.

Thanks Donny. Zeus does take a good picture on the wood. It has been a while since I had him out. Zeus has one thing on his mind and thats "coon". I enjoy hunting that "hard head".

Good to hear, that Joe is shaping up to be a good looking hound. I like the name by the way. I 'm glad Joe and your Boy have taken up with each other. It's fun to watch a pups actions as they grow. I look forward to seeing Joe under some coon this "Season". I got a new cell phone and when they change it over I lost that picture of Joe you sent me. If you get a chance sometime please send me another or feel free to post pictures on here anytime.

A couple of Joe's litter mates are running track and treeing on squirrels and coon drags. I'm getting the same response from the owners of the 3rd cross as I did the 1st and 2nd cross. When I ask them how they are doing, they just smile real big before giving the details. I guess the 3rd cross is 3 -1/2 months old now. Thunder is due to come in heat again soon and she will be bred to Jack again for the 4th time. Take care and talk to you later, Chris.

Hey John, thanks for the reply. Your question about "wondering if he will reproduce like Jack"? Is I believe so. The only way I can know for sure is try and get a few females bred, place the pups in hunters hands and see what happens. This is the only way I can prove it. I am confident he can, but proof is needed, and thats the whole idea behind the "breeding incentive".
We keep talking about getting together for a hunt, but thats all we have done so far is talk about it. But your right we need to get together. I didn't see your name on the Autumn Oaks Hunt list. Whats up with that?

8-23-12 hunt

Decided to take Hardware out for a little hunt last night. Hardware hasn't been out in a while and was ready to go. Our little hunt went great. Hardware got stuck in at 500 yds and ran the track hard for a short distance, then a couple nice quivering bawl locates. I knew then he wasn't going anywhere and he had found Mr. Coon. I get to the tree and there are 4 eyes looking down, there was 2 coons in his tree. I let Hardware know he did a good job and we head for the truck. I decided to head on home because of work the next day. But on the way home I stop by Hardees and get Hardware a Hamburger to show my appreciation for a job well done and getting me home at a decent hour. Below is a picture of last nights hunt.

HARDWARE, TREED WITH 2 COON

At some point in the future I will most likely bred Zeus to couple females. At least one will be an out cross. I'm in no hurry to bred him. Plans before Zeus was even born was he would be used as a Stud for my personal use to help carry on this stock of hounds. That was provided he turned out in the woods, which he has turned out well in the woods. Zeus was never trained with scents or caged coon. He was taken straight from the pen to the woods at 6 months old. On the 3rd night in the woods he treed his own coon in below freezing temps on ice cover ground and has been treeing coon ever since. Zeus was from a litter of 3. One was dead at birth and one was laid on and killed at just a few days old. So, Zeus is the only one from this cross. And his mother has since died. Like I said I am in no hurry at all. But, I wanted to throw it out there in case the right female were to come along.

Just sitting here next to I-70, waiting to meet a friend and pickup a female I had farmed out. This is the Dixie female I own out of Jack X Thunder.

I have a young started male, (14 months old).I would like offer a partnership on. This male is out of Jack and Penny. This male was running and treeing with momma at around 4 months old. His first coon he treed by himself was at around 7 months old. He treed this coon while another dog was running a separate track. Has treed several by himself since then. If interested give me a call.

I'm expecting a couple pups that will need started in the next few months. That is the reason for the partnership on the above male. I try not to get more than I can handle, but that doesn't always work out the way I plan it.

I had Hardware and Dixie entered for AO this year, but couldn't make it because of family issues. Maybe next year. We will try and be ready for the Round-Up in October.

Well, I got Dixie in the truck and going to get on down the road. Later, Chris

Yes Russ that was the same young dog you hunted with. He was around 9 months old then. He did alright that night considering he had been laid up for awhile. I believe this young dog will continue to improve. The hunt time on him is very limited. He shows he has a very strong winding ablitiy. I believe he has what it takes to finish into a nice hound. He just needs some consistent hunt time put on him. I have seen him do some real nice work, even with the limited experience.

I know what you mean about young dogs. You have some nice ones that need some time put on them too during this season. I hope you and Harold are able to concentrate on them young dogs you have raised out the Sally female and the Rat female. I believe they will make some nice ones. Thanks for the reply and take care, Chris

09-04-12 hunt

I took Bash for a short hunt tonight by himself. I made 3 drops with him. First drop was at my "honey hole", not a bark, he hunted it out fairly decent making his way to the road. I was able to call him to me. We loaded up and moved. Second drop he struck hot right off the lead. I seen a deer bedded down 40 yards from us. The track took him real close to were the deer was, so I wasn't for sure if he was running the deer or what. As it turned out the deer went one way and Bash took the track on in a little deeper before treeing next to a swampy area. It was thick I wasn't able to shine the tree very well, needless to say I was unable to find the coon. We lead out, load up and move. Third drop Bash works his way in along a corn field tree line and a creek. He gets in around 200yds and falls treed. I ease my way into him. He is treed right next to the creek on a "water oak" tree. He has 2 coons. I decided to call it a night because of work in the morning. I stop by Hardees and treat Bash to a Hamburger for a job well done tonight. I got a couple pictures of tonights hunt. I will have to post them later, photo bucket is not loading up right. Bash is out of Jack x Penny and is 14 months old.

Finally my Photo Bucket account is up and running again. So, here are the pictures from the 9-4-12 hunt with Bash
