Thanks ya'll we had a real good time. Got beat by Iron Will 2 on Friday night, he's a real nice dog that gets hooked with a coon. Brummy didn't look bad, Will just did a better job and Jeff knows him inside and out.
The cards fell the right way Saturday night and we won the cast with 425+ and that was good enough for 5th place NtCh. All 4 dogs got split at least once during the cast. I was impressed with the Downing's Patch dog, he drew some minus right off the bat but then came back strong toward the end.
I did find out to the tune of 75- both nights that if he's in a hole when you get close he will shut up. Bad deal breaking them on holes down here and coons run in holes pretty regular up there. He would hammer down until we got close then he would shut up and mill. Cost me some points both nights but thats the way it is.
I was glad to see he didn't have any trouble treeing coons Wednesday night pleasure hunting after riding 14 hours. He treed coons in front of, behind and away from other dogs. In less than 2 hours hunting with my good friend Dave Oswald we made 7 trees and looked at 6 coons. I was ready to hunt all night but a nasty thunderstorm blew in and cut us way short.
All in all it was a real good weekend but I sure am glad to be back home with my wife and baby girl
