I WOULD BE IN GRAY IF IT WAS GOING ON TODAY. I KNOW MARYLAND WAS ONE WHO DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO DECIDE, THANKS TO THE MD GOVERNOR AT THAT TIME. BUT ALOT WENT SOUTH.

I GUESS THE CIVIL WAR TURNED OUT GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY, BUT WHEN I READ THE BOOKS OR WATCH THE MOVIES I STILL FIND MYSELF HOPING THE SOUTH WILL BE VICTORIOUS IN THE END.

THE NORTHS THREE WORST NIGHTMARES

GEN. NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST
GEN. STONEWALL JACKSON
GEN. ROBERT E. LEE

not all yanks eat poorly, I grew up on the family farm in eastern Iowa not far from the MISS. My mother started supper at about
noon. We were always eating like kings, like pork chops, roasts,
liver and onions, beef tounge, steaks, ect, with all the sides. when we needed milk we just ran to the bulk-tank for fresh whole milk. sure miss those days. long live the north
go HAWKEYES.

Ya'll must have been in the south to be having supper. LOL Before I got married some Yankee friends invited me to dinner. I showed up and they didn't feed me so it never crossed my mind to go back for supper. They wondered if something had happened to me.

I agree cooking a truly great supper starts right after dinner.

Yeah we do have that 'Dinner'/'Supper' thing don't we? We don't eat 'Supper" mid afternoon here. It's always 6-7. We eat lunch -- I mean 'Dinner' around 1 . If we got something in the slow cooker it might cook all afternoon. Yes it does take time to cook either a dinner or a supper.

PECAN NOT PECON

I LOVE THAT PECAN PIE [PRONOUNCED P CAN IN THE SOUTH]. HOW A YANK CAN GET P CON OUT OF A WORD THAT IS SPELLED PECAN [NOTICE THE A IN THE WORD PECAN , THERE IS NO O] I WILL NEVER KNOW. I GUESS THEY THINK IT SOUNDS FANCY TO THEM I RECKON. ANYWAY, OUR FOOD DOES MAKE IT HARD TO FIGHT THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE, BUT , ITS LIKE MY GRANNY ALWAYS SAID '' JUST EAT A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING, AND, YOU SHOULD BE ALRIGHT,''[KEY WORD ''LITTLE'']. HARD TO DO THOUGH. GOD BLESS YALL ALL.

Love that pecan pie too. My sister makes a good one using my grandmother's old recipe. Different Members of my family pronounce it differently. I don't THINK we have any yankee blood in our lineage but who knows! There was a bunch of them fine soldiers of Sherman's came through here raping women and killing the livestock and burning everything else you know.

That's true you can eat well and still stay within the limits. We do it here at home. A person can virtually eat himself to death.
