No, Diamond Jim was not "basically" a Vaughn dog.
Just because he has some Vaughn blood in him, or goes back to some vaughn dogs, doesnt make him Vaughn bred.
Im not taking anything away from Diamond Jim, but I thought this was a vaughn thread, not smokey river.
There are tons of dogs that go back on Vaughn dogs, as a matter of fact a big percentage of blueticks do, so are you gonna call everything out there "Vaughn" bred??
I myself am a little of a vaughn fancier, and have enjoyed this thread, but I believe I`ll have to part ways here, cause I wont refer to Diamond Jim as a Vaughn bred dog, just because he had some vaughn blood. Buzz Anderson is more responsible for him than anybody.
I have been breeding my own stock of hounds for over thirty years, and they have evolved from Vaughn bred hounds, that I bought straight from elbert vaughn, but do I call them Vaughn bred, hell no, I bred them.
And to the guy that named his female "Vaughns" so and so, that is wrong and you know it, that female is no closer to actual Vaughn dogs than anybody elses, quit using the mans name to sell puppies to people who dont know any better.
