As has been mentioned, make it mandatory for the breeder to pay up the entire litter. As an offering from UKC to help with offsetting this cost to the breeder, restructure the percentages to 10% Sire, 15% Dam, 75% to the pup.

Just a idea, you have to make dog nitech before he/she eligible for money . Then put money into the RQEs ,Zones ,and World hunt finals .Example all rqe cast wins get 1 point 1st gets 2 points 2nd get 1.75 points 3rd gets 1.5 points 4th gets 1.25 then to the zones do the same then world hunt .Do not know the numbers but it would pay to winning a cast at a RQE Zone World
Or if you give each dog that win a nitech cast a point and he has to win 10 cast before he/she grnite plus maybe let grnites compete with nite cast so they can keep earning$

Rqe, zones, and world hunts are good money makers for the clubs big enough to hold them, getting point values up to increase attendance and help smaller local clubs out should be the objective..

I do agree it should be 10 cast wins to Grand & at least 5 cast wins to Nite Champ & all should hunt together..

It would get point values up . It would also get attendance up because your dog would have to be nitech before he eligible . I am just giving a idea . If you give out bigger checks more people are going to perticapate in the program

Keep people coming a few more times. Only the almighty dollar will bring new people in. It aint about trophies, slips, prestige, titles or even bragging rights to the the young guys, its about $$

.

I think the answer there is, it would keep the people hunting now coming more. With that said it would almost double the amount of points dished out and doubling the points with the same amount in the fund would lower the money received and not increase it.

I think what a lot of coon hunters are missing is all these programs and money thats dished out in PKC. Comes from the money coon hunters put into the programs and entry fees. UKC the entry fee is what, split between the club and UKC. PKC it is split between the club, pkc and escrow for future payouts of their programs. Nobody wants to hear a cost increase for them to hunt. But if you want bigger payouts the money has to come from somewhere. The clubs are strapped now and losing money. UKC has to stay in business and I am assuming they are only taking a fair share. So that leaves increasing fees. A small increase to thousands means a bigger carrot for some to chase. That is the world we live in. That bigger carrot gets more involved.

Agreed. Slight increases across the board and ways to put money in the fund for the upcoming year are way overdue..

I agree some changes are needed, the performance was set up for the local hunters to get a little jingle back along with getting a title on there dogs, poor boy hunts bring in the biggest crowd at local hunts, the performance makes every hunt a poor boy hunt if you win your cast, if you take away the chance for anyone to win a little jingle every week just so the top 4 can win it all, I don’t think that will help much, JMO.

So don’t pay a reg dog, if it only takes 3 wins to make NtCh an no payout then add 5 more wins (total of 10) to make Gn how will that increase the point value? Then wait till there 18 Months Old to pay one up, should be a NtCh by then, how will that increase the payout? Just asking.

10 cast wins was just a suggestion, leave it the same . Know you go to a major hunt 20 plus dogs you get 2 points you go to a local hunt 3 dogs .3 major hunt you win at $100 point $200 at a local hunt you win $30 levels the pay out .
Just made a suggestion, UKC asked for ideas
Thanks

The local clubs need more people to hunt . Making it harder to get points is the only way to get bigger payout

I agree, we got to figure out a way to get breeders or pup owners to pay up there pups, if every performance eligible pup was paid up the program as it is would work!

That is the exact setup of another kennel club who has almost dropped off the face of the earth.

I don't think that set up was the reason for their demise
