Braves and Tigers both screwed up letting Infante go. He had a good series. Glad that's over. Looking forward to 2015 already. As soon as there is some trade news we will start a 2015 thread.

I'm a huge baseball fan and dearly love Cardinals. However, with that being said, I wish Major League baseball would put a salary cap on what they can spend on there team. Too many times teams make the playoffs and the next year there having to unload players for the next year. I believe parity has improved a great deal the last 5 years in baseball, but i would love to see it improve. I give the franchises that have great farm systems credit and still have the blue-collar approach and try to sign there young kids.. With that being said, i believe the players have forgot about what real loyalty is to a franchise or a city... Very few players stay in the same place for an entire career. Very few teams have that player that you can say is the true face of a franchise. I believe you Tigers fans still have an outside chance of signing Scherzer.. But you couldn't come to an agreement last year when you were trying to sign him and now your having to compete against other teams..

Bryan you make some good points regarding salary cap. If a salary cap would cause more teams to develop and retain talent from their own system I would be all in favor of it. I get tired of the big name players just shuffling around the league. And unfortunately the Tigers are one of the worst for doing that.

mr.bond i hate to say it but i think the braves are going to be plum pitful this season,i wouldnt be surprised if they dont finish in the cellar.the braves did get right fielder nick markakis who won a gold glove a 2 years ago,but the last couple of seasons his avg.has been going down they also got some guy from the american league that hit a whopping 220 last year and him and gooslin suppose to battle for the 2nd base postion.i like freemen,gooslin,and simmions and i hope they trade the rest of the lineup for somebody that can make contact with the ball,even though simmions has trouble makeing contact at times i would have him to choke up and tell him dont over swing.this year will be like 70s if your a brave fan iam afraid but i hope iam bad wrong.lol
