History
Hey Larry, The history on these dogs goes this way. I took Nt Ch Mandolin down to Ramon's house and left her there to be bred. I had hunted with BIII a time or two in the hunts and a very well respected coon hunter friend had also hunted with him and said I needed to breed to him, and I quote " he is that good." She had a pile of pups and five survived, 3 males and 2 females. My pick of the litter was Jon but trying to improve the breed with females I kept a female. My wife said that the man treated you good with breeding Mandy, so give him your best one. I gave the pup and the other female to Raman and Jason Washington. And they took it from there. The only one left out of the litter is my Nt Ch Mandy II. She is 5 years old and just had a litter off of Heywards Sharpes Nt Ch Hawk dog. (Grand son of Grasshopper, top, and Rusty Red on the bottom) He has won a bunch of money in AKC and has competed against some top walker dogs and won. She also has a litter from Gr Nt Ch The Coon Buster, a son of Sandy Creek Jake and I have a 2 1/2 year old from that litter called Coon Bustin Mandy. She is coming along nicely. Jon's sister is a dog I really like. She is a quick tree dog and gets first strikes by getting out quickly, not babbling. If she barks strike her she is honest. Old Mandolin is still alive and I probably should get some video of all three generations treeing together. That would be interesting. Has anyone ever had three generations of Nt Ch Treeing together. Need to get that young dog to the hunts and hope Mandolin stays alive. The old girl is 12 and still goes hunting hard and don't come back. I doubt she will come in heat any more but have been hoping for one more litter from her. There is some Banjo blood out there, mixed up different ways and I like it. Most are tight on the ground and explosive tree dogs. Mandy II is a radical tree dog, jumping, climbing and chewing. So if you are looking for radical, II has it.Any faults she has I seem to forget about when I see her treeing. Ha, imagine that. I think II will grand out if I take the time to do it. I just have other priorities. Some might not like radical. Oh well, thats their choice. Any way. I have been messing with these dogs for over twenty years and this bunch goes hunting hard and does not come back and are stay put tree dogs. All of them don't make coon dogs but the ones that do, I like. Ramon then Brian Ratliff can tell you more about Jon. Take care, Lucas
