The gospel message is "good news" to the mortal person, but in thinking about our mortality can be "disturbing" to the mind.

Seems like as time goes by we tend to "settle in" and start to beleive that we are in control. The gospel message, personally applied is a reminder that we actually have NO control and it all is up to our creator, A relationship with Him gets sidetracked while "living life" and this is when we are attacted by poweres of the Devil causing us to weaken and creates breaches in this relationship. Most of us have been guilty, I have.

The "gospel message" is our only hope but could be disturbing if the hearer does not understand the message.

THE GOSPEL

THAT MESSAGE IS REAL DISTURBING TO A NON BELIEVER,THATS WHY GOD GIVES US THE ABILITY TO THINK ABOUT THINGS,WHEN A NON BELIEVER STARTS THING ABOUT IT THEY THINK WHAT IF ALL THAT COULD BE TRUE,ON THE OTHER HAND A CHRISTIAN ,A BELIEVER WHEN THEY READ THE GOSPEL KNOWING THAT GOD DOES EXIST AND THE GOSPEL IS ALL TRUE,THATS WHAT MAKES US LIVE FOR THE LORD,LIKE MR GRUBBS SAID,WHEN WE START THINKING WERE IN CONTROL OF OUR LIVES WE SOON FIND OUT AGAIN THAT WE ARENT ,THAT GOD HAS ALL CONTOL OVER OUR LIVES,PATRICK THAT WAS A GOOD QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED TO YOU ,I WISK I KNEW ALL THE ANSWERS,BUT GOD DOESNT WANT US TO WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN WE ALL WILL UNDERSTAND.THERE WILL BE NO MORE TEARS, SORROW, CRYING ,WE WILL HAVE IT MADE,CAN YOU IMAGINE SITING IN HEAVEN TALKIN TO MOSES,ABRAHAM,ISAAC,,DAVIDALL THE PEOPLE THATS WE READ ABOUT IN THE BIBLE,, OOOOO WHAT A DAY HAVE A BLESSED ONE, YOUR FRIEND IN CHRIST,RON

THE GIFT OF EACH DAY

EACH DAY IS A GIFT FROM GOD.IT IS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY GOD HAS GIVEN YOU TO SERVE HIM.TIME ISNT INEXHAUSTIBLE,NOR CAN WE ASSUME WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE MORE;SOME DAY OUR TIME ON EARTH WILL END.[PSALM 31:15 "MY TIMES ARE IN YOUR HANDS.}THE VERY FIRST THING WE SHOULD DO WHEN WE WAKE UP EACH DAY IS,THANK GOD FOR THE GIFT OF ANOTHER DAY.THE SECOND IS TO COMMIT OUR TIME TO GOD,GOD GAVE IT TO US FOR A REASON:NOT TO BE WASTED OR MIS HANDLED,BUT TO BE USED FOR HIS GLORY.WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO HIM FOR THE WAY WE USE OUR TIME,AND ONCE A MINUTE OR DAY PASSES IT CAN NEVER BE RECLAIMED.THE BIBLE SAYS {EPHESIANS 5:16 "WE SHOULD ALWAYS BE REDEEMING THE TIME,BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL"}ASK GOD INTO YOUR LIFE TODAY,LIVE FOR HIM,LIFE IS HARD,THINGS HAPPEN,BUT WHEN YOU HAVE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN YOUR LIFE IT MAKES LIFE A LOT EASYER,I LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL MY HEART,I TRY EACH DAY TO LIVE IT FOR HIM,I SIN,I GET OFF HIS PATH,AS MUCH AS I TRY,I DO AND SAY THINGS THAT I SHOULDNT,BUT,,,,,,,GOD IS ALWAYS THERE TO PUT ME BACK ON TRACK,TO FORGIVE ME ,AND HELP ME THROUGH EACH DAY,WHAT AN AWSOME GOD !!!!HAVE A BLESSED DAY MY FRIENDS,,GOD LOVES YA, WE LOVE YA, YOUR FRIEND IN CHRIST,RON

THe message is intended to be disturbing and the reason why is alot but the main reason is that it forces someone to make a decission the second they hear it. You can't strattle the fence you have to choose a side. Jesus tells us that you are either for him or against him. But the message is still the best message I have ever heard and I am glad to say it is no longer disturbing to me, but absolutely wonderful. God bless and tell the message to a non beliver and see if they don't look disturbed.

Humans are creatures of habit. Even in our love for hounds and hunting, a breif break in our routines can and do deminish our desire to participate.

Point is; our devotion to God, if interruped vora a period deminishes to a degree.

This thread is a daily reminder of our misplaced priorities and Brad and Ron have carried "the load". I certainly have missed the remarks made by and prompted by their dedication. Thanks guys.

Yes, It's a "good day" in Tennessee. The weather is near perfect and things are good. Here's a thought; The entire country has, in the recent months experienced either draught, flooding or some other "distasterous" weather conditions and obviously these conditions played some part in getting the environment ready for this beautiful day.

A lot of us have also in the recent months experienced inconveniences in our personal life that made "life style" changes necessary that will bring us to a better "life style'" in the long run.

We're getting a "free ride" thru life, so we just need to adapt and trust the " Man in charge" and "SIT DOWN ,SHUT UP AND FASTEN OUR SEAT BELTS" and enjoy the ride.

Can only imagine how much God loves each and every one of us. All of us on herre is either parents or have parents at one time. You know no matter what you did or said that your parents would be there for us with love and understanding. And no matter what your children do or say that you will love them. So the bible tells us that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son to die on a cross for our sins. I couldn't imagine doing that but God knew that was the only way for us to have a chance at salvation was thru Jesus Christ. I am so thankful to be living under grace and not the law. Remember God loves you and is calling you to him if you will only listen, don't put him off just open up your heart and invite Christ in and your life will change forever. Have a blessed day and be thankful for the blood that has been shed for your sins.

God's love and most everything related to HIM is "unimagionable" to myself. There's no way understand and describe HIM.

His Grace toward mankind is our only hope thru Christ, Just to be given life and the opportunity of another life "blows me away"

Remember if you are ashamed of Jesus, he will be ashamed of you. Went to bible study last night and then turned out and had a wonderful time. Isn't God good, tell a co-worker today about the only way.

It is a little lengthy but good and I have posted it on the open forum before and it is very true

WHO WILL TAKE THE SON????

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art. When the Viet Nam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands. He said, Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art. The young man held out his package. I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this; The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift; The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitorscame to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture; A voice from the back of the room shouted, We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one; But the auctioneer persisted, Will someone bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?; Another voice shouted angrily, We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids; But still the auctioneer continued, The son! The son! Who'll take the son? Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. He raised his hand & shouted; I'll give $10 for the painting; Being a poor man, it was all he could afford. We have $10, who will bid 20? Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters. $10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20? The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections. The auctioneer pounded the gavel. Going once, twice, SOLD for $10; A man sitting on the second row shouted, Now let's get on with the collection; The auctioneer laid down his gavel, I'm sorry, the auction is over. What about the paintings? I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything;
God gave his Son 2,000 years ago to die on a cruel cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is, The Son, the Son, who'll take the Son?; Because you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

I was reading the bible this morning and came across a wonderful message of encouragement for all of us.

Luke 5:31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

What a wonderful thing to know that Jesus came for me and for you. You see we all are sinners and all fall short but, when God sent his Son Jesus he gave us all a choice of salvation. All you have to do is to accept Christ today, don't wait don't put it off because Jesus is coming back soon as the book of Revelations tells us

Rev 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what MUST SOON TAKE PLACE.

Remember God loves you and has sent his salvation for us all we have to do is to accept. GOd Bless and have a blessed day.

WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!

73 years ago on 4/26/'34, I was given the gift of life here on this earth and the deal came with a free pass to another better and eternal life, The second part of this "deal" is opational.

In the process of "living" the life here on earth, we tend to beleive that we are "in control". As a young guy of 16 I did make a profession of faith and accepted Jesus, but still felt in "control" of things, enjoying exceptionally good health.

Possibly the greatest blessing of my 73+ years was that in this past 11 months I have experienced more debilitating health problems than I could have imagioned. This has slowed my pace and for the first time in my life I have reflected and thought about life and it's true meaning. This has brought me to really appreciate Psalm 45:10 ; BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.
