Ivmectrin is what I use but be careful it is strong. Not recommended for old dogs start out on pups and give it to them as they get older. Wont have worms, fleas, ticks

LOL I gave it to two pups at the rate of 1cc per day for 55 days for mange on 25 lb pups . Pretend like its strong and it is for a collie type dog for it will kill one but not a hound. Ivermec once a month for heartworm preventative and then something else rotated around for gut worms.

fleas

bayer does not work on my fleas they keep on eating. i finally took a friends advice and used diesel fuel on the ground around the kennel and that gave me some relief.

If you mix half diesel and half gas and light it, that will solve your problem.

Bayer

Hi,

Used for 6 years. No problems. It used to have a different active ingredient 6 years ago. Haven't noticed any difference in its effectiveness.

Good Hunting,
Robert

I have used both. Sevin is better for ticks, but Bayer is hands down much better for fleas. You can buy it at Lowes or Home Depot.

If it is 1.47% Imidaclorpid it is the same dosage. Safe? I sling fertilizer by hand and get it in my shoes for hours and don't think anything of it. Some people are scared of fertilizer, LOL unless it's organic of course.

Fertilizer is N, p2o5, K2o. Weed and Feed is a Fertilizer with a bit of herbicide in the mix hence the specific name. some fertilizers have a small amount of insecticide in them. This stuff is an insecticide with a trace amount of fertilzer in it. It is not enough fertilizer in it to make a cowpea with a shower of ---- and a shower of rain every day. There is such a small amount of fertilizer in it, I am surprised it is legally sold. I think it is a marketing ploy to make people think they are getting a higher value product. Are people scared of growing plants on their dog's back or what? LOL In theory the 1.47% Imidichloriprid should be cheaper than the one with added fertilizer. I'd buy the straight product if it were readily available and especially if it was cheaper but it is not either one. Besides, from a gardener's aspect, how can they tell if their plants look better from the small amount of fertilizer or from the fact that those treated plants are not suffering from aphids and other sucking and chewing insects and soil borne nematodes?

Bumping this up.

I haven't had to buy any of this in a long time. I grabbed a bottle and didn't realize the stuff is a lil different. Less potent and green color. Anyone else still using this one? And does it still work?

I was looking for the tree and shrub after reading this thread earlier today but I guess they dont make it anymore. I did see that they have "Bayer season long grub controll" that the active ingredient was Imidacloprid 1.47%. Has any one tried this seeing as the tree and shrub has changed? I bought it and I guess I will try it but thought I would ask.

I couldn't find Bayer tree and shrub, but just last week here in NC at Lowe's, I found 1.47% imidclorprid in Bayer Grub Control. I had searched for other brands of tree and shrub and couldn't find it. I just browsed around and found the "Bayer Grub

I was surprized it was imidcloprid 1.47% but it sure was. I compared label to an old bottle of the original Bayer tree and shrub I bought years ago before the fertilizer was added. It was identical.

It's the real stuff without the other fertilizers I've seen in other tree and shrub products. I was happy to find it.

Just thought to mention in case others had trouble finding this product.

Ky Chris and Coonrun... I bought it for the same... Just sharing.

This stuff made a believer out of me years ago. I only used once or twice a year cause I'm just not having the flea problem I once did.....I do still get a few ticks though....

I have been using this for several years now and have great success with it. However I am still using the original formula. I have bought some at flea markets and yard sales to keep me going I still have 4 un open bottles.
