Mornin, busy weekend around the house. Thanksgiving dinner at Church yesterday ( still stuffed ). Now I already got left overs and it isnt even Thursday yet. Smoked a butt and some chicken wings and of course Mrs. B. fixed up some sides.

Nice pic Johnny and the last few nights have been beautiful.

Well what's the story? Never had fried cabbage that I can recall. This recipe came off the internet! Sounds good in theory!

"Ingredients
3 slices bacon, cut into thirds 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste 1 head cabbage, cored and sliced 1 white onion, chopped 1 pinch white sugar
Directions
Place the bacon and vegetable oil into a large pot over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Add cabbage, onion, and sugar to the pot; cook and stir continuously for 5 minutes, until tender. "

The "cook' here likes to do cabbage and such in her "Black and Decker Double Decker Flavor Scenter Deluxe" a steamer.

My better half records a lot of stuff from TV.

A few nights ago she recorded a program from GPTV about how the Blue Ridge Parkway came about. It was very interesting to me since they covered all the details of the original plan, how the needed land was 'Taken' , the route it eventually took and why, how construction was done in the early days and some of the people who actually did some of the work by hand. The reasoning behind it by FDR and the politics and changes involved to make it happen. Started back in the 1930's I believe.

They made the comment that it was the most visited area in the US by tourists. Had interviews with people whose families and their land were affected by it. Amazing Grace was sung in native tongue.

I really enjoyed it.

Hi Everyone!

This is probably a BUSY week for LOTS of us! We have a few different celebrations at diff. places, stuff to cook, etc... Lots of eating too!

NICE day here, kinda warm, around 53 or so for a high. Had a wonderful walk with Web. He got to see his friend, the neighbors dog today. She has cancer but had a recent surgery that made her feel AWESOME! To see that 14 yr old dog want to PLAY with my Big Old Doofus was heartwarming! At some point Irving will bring her over here so they can run around in the fenced pen. Made my day.
Spent the day Trying to rest a bit... IF I lie down to nap I get phone calls... today was a BIG phone day! LOL... But I did rest the neck... this helped the headache! I know the weekend is gonna be killer... so I'll let you all know in advance... I will likely not be on here as much... But I will be thinking of you all... eatting all that GREAT SOuthern food...

Johnny... that moon... we got to see it and I took a couple lousy pix of it myself. It is so cool to think about the cat that WE are seeing the SAME moon... from different places...but it is the SAME MOON!
Have a great night, Hope someone can get out in the woods???

HappyHunting Heather
