I had a good hunt on Tuesday night with Mark Brown. He had Psyco & lou and I had Froggie. They went in deep got struck and treed at 1200 yards. they had a den but they were sure treeing hard. Wednesday I decided to hunt Froggie by her self. First dump we was looking at the Garman and my frend asked how far would she go. As we were looking at the Garman it read 350,400,500,600,700,Zip I'm not liking this,800,875 and then she turned around. Second dump she went in about 700 yards barked 6 times and locked on a tree.She had the meat....Doug

Yep, that is the Zip side showin up. Hey, I know where there is one that will stay at your feet and doesn't like water if your interested?????hahaha Just kidden with ya, She will make you walk. Tim has been telling me how good she is doing. She never was afraid of the dark when we had her either.

Heard from Larry Carlin, he said that his Turkey dog (John II x Dual Grand Abby) is really looking good. Hunting hard and split treeing with the meat. Larry says that he will be hunted from here on out by himself. Turkey will be 1 yr old this month. NOT BAD!!!!!!!..........Tim

Mark Brown called and said that he had a good hunt last night with Psyco. The young dog treed 8 coon around the lake and looked good doing it. Should be seeing him in the hunts this spring.........Tim

The Lady that you told about the Smoke pups called and bought the next to last one. Only one left and it is a male. He is really light colared but has a huge blanket back. Really good lookin rascal.

So far the plans are for all of us to meet up with you and Paul Friday night there at Sweet Springs. I will be bringing two pups, one for Bill and the other for the Lady that called you. Thanks.

Timmy and I have just about finished our new kennel. 30 x50 all under a new roof. Just have one side of the metal to put on yet and we are done. Ole Smoke and Robin will think they moved up in the world.haha

By the end of the night he treed 13 coon. He said Psyco split from Lou three times and had the meat. He was excited about how well the dogs looked. I don't think Mark will be joining us this weekend, he and his bride have plans to celibrate his getting old like us.
We have really sloughed off this week on huntting. Everybody has had the flu and feeling pretty rough. Savin up our energy for the weekend.

Walker Evans (13) called last night and wanted to go hunting. My Grand son Keaton (10) and I loaded up Ranger and drove the 30 odd miles over to Walkers where he had Deuce (Turk and Hillbilly Millie) ready to go. Since both boys couldn't be out to late because of school in the morning, we turned loose right behind Walker's Grand dad's house. The dogs got so deep we couldn't tell which one struck first and when we walked over a hill they were both telling us that it was all over. Walker's little dog was really getting on the wood with a short bawl that carried well. They had 3 coon up the tree, the dogs looked good and the boys got home way before their bed time..........Tim

Dad and I met up with Tim and Paul last night after delivivering a pup. We had Robin, Tim had Ranger, and Paul had Astro. We let out and the dogs got deep in a big holler. Ranger picked a den tree and the other two came on it as well. Sent them on from there and they got almost out of hearin and got treed. Paul went back to the truck and went to the dogs. They had a coon we walked out the other side to the nearest road and Paul picked us up. Next dump they punched in the woods fast and was treed in less than ten minutes 600 yds in. They had a coon in a big oak. 3 ntch mad dogs arnt afraid to make u walk on a jan night. They look for a coon, they can tree by the truck or go a mile. It was a good fun hunt and all the dogs looked good. Really liked what I saw out of Ranger and Astro.

Tree by the truck or go deep. That is an excellent way to put it. That's exactly why I like these hounds. There are too many hounds (all breeds) that either won't go deep or won't tree by the truck. I like the way you worded that.

That was a good hunt with Roy, Timmy and Paul. We had two dogs sired by John II and one by Psyco Sid, all three are treedogs that will get gone and get treed. A good representation of the line. Robin really looked good also.........Tim

Just got off the phone with Troy Young, Troy went hunting with Jeff Grant last night and Jeff's young dog Buddy got killed on a blacktop. Buddy was making an outstanding hound and had treed close to 50 coon by himself this season. Buddy was from Turk x LuLu. I am glad that Jeff was able to get a litter of pups off Buddy before this happened. I hope he has another Buddy in the making. Sorry for your loss Jeff..........Tim

Hey Tim barring that she has a third female, I would like to come up for a hunt when I pick her up. Will your running season be in then?
I took my Kidd pup (Turk x Wendy) from the last cross to the woods for the first time the other night, he got gone 650y by hisself, and my old dog came back and told on him. I believe a guy that's hard of hearing could hear this dog. He has got an A1 mouth on him. Hunting has been tuff here, it don't seem like the coon numbers are there this year. We've killed about 40 coons in 2 months, usually we kill about 100+ a year. I'll lay in there w him, but he'll definitely go. Thx again Tim, and keep me up to date on them pups when they get here. Had a good conversation with Dakota Mcnaughton (sp) from South East Texas. He really likes his young (Turk x Lucy) dog, He says that he is making a track driving, tree grabbing, impressive young dog that they like very well. Dakota says that he should be ready for the hunts this summer, oh yea he isn't quite a year old yet. Good luck with him in 2012. Expecting some pictures of him..........Tim
