They start the NEW RULES PACKAGE this weekend. They have went from 900 horsepower to 725. Also there will be NO DOWN FORCE on the car so a lot of sliding around racing. The driver will also be able to adjust the trackbar himself from inside the car.
Apparently they didn't reduce the horsepower for Daytona or Dega because the speeds were still over 200mph.
I see this working in Jimmie Johnson's favor because he can drive the wheels off a car when they are sliding around but I also see the ones who can't wrecking themselves and those who happen to be around them. Atlanta could be a wrecking yard Sunday. Will be fun to see who can deal with the new rule changes and who can't!

I was shopping on ebay a week or so ago looking for my grandson Mason some Jimmie Johnson stuff and this came up and he wanted it for our hound BO. I'm not one of those kind of dog lovers that dress my hounds up and not knocking anyone who is, but, when it comes to the grand kids ole Paw Paw can be talked into a lot! lol! So anyway it came in the mail today and Mason is here for the weekend and we were watching qualifying in Atlanta and he wanted to put it on BO, so we did. Bo wanted to chew it off so we walked him around to get a picture.
Qualifying went to the dogs, again, as a bunch of them didn't even get on the track including Gordon, Johnson and Kenseth. They had to go back through inspection and NASCAR has it cut so close they missed the first round. Stinks big time is all I can say. Congrats to Joey because he got the Pole. Only bad luck will keep him from that Championship this year as it seems he is on fire to go get it.

tell mason his dog looks good.i cant say for sure but if i was betting i would bet that jimmy johnson shirt on ole bo would help him flat burn a coon track now lol.i aint believeing joeys on the pole,i hope hes for real this year.

Jimmie Johnson gets the win! I didn't think he had enough to get by Harvick and hold him off but he did. This wrecking loose racing with the new rules falls right into Jimmies hands. Look for him to be in Victory Lane in Vegas next week!

They are NOT going to pursue criminal charges against Kurt Bush. But Nascar is still going to make him jump through the hoops to try and get reinstated which I think is BULL. They are acting so politically correct and like their doing all the proper things yet the drivers keep hitting walls at every track that aren't protected.

Round one is over with and Joey is fastest so far. Kyle Larson is 2nd and was fastest in practice. I think he is our sleeper to look out for. Jimmie, JR, Harvick, Gordon all go to next round.

It was a lovely 70 degree day at the track. This qualifying format is something that isn't worth seeing live in person. I'm just not a fan of it. Having a great time with friends. Been getting some autographs (Danica Biffle,Edwards and the "WHOLE" RCR fleet along with RC himself) Don't really have a favorite but the 22, 48, and 20 cars seem to be putting up real good times over a period of 10 or more laps. Suppose to be up to 76 on Sunday. Looking for forward to the next 2 days of racing and then back to Wisconsin. Pictures will be loaded when I get back home.

Jimmie was fastest in last two practices . Gordon to the back after going to a back up car after contact in practice with Danica . Hope she gets outta nascar , sooner the better in my opinion ! Looks like Joey is gonna be fast , also matt , Jamie , truex . Truex jr looking good this year ! Good job to those guys , very deserving !

nascar is never wrong in there own mind ! Stewart just gets penalized for tire rolling outta pit box across track but upon reply they seen David Eagan hit the tire outta crew members hand so they said it was pit crew member improper handling cause he laid tire in pit box to long before he picked it up ? Come nascar - crappy call and Iam not a Stewart fan at all ...... Admit you made a mistake !

Happy Harvick gets the win! My wife's happy about it. Mason and I wish Jimmie wouldn't have had so much right front tire trouble but that's the breaks. Good race and was happy to see the Dinger up there in 6th.
Scary Creek, I agree, bad call by NASCAR on the loose tire.
