We ocassionally have some yanks ask what kind of tree they grow on. I don't know about growing a few in the garden.. Never tried it. I don't know why not though. Don't know how well they would germinate using that kind of seed.

If you live near commercial growers you can ask to pull a few vines long before they are ready to dig. I also love the little pegs at the end of the vines long before they show any sign of netting on the shell. When boiled, you can eat the whole thing. The boiled maket producers nrmally grade those out! the best part I think.

You might Google Sniders SC. It's on Highway 21 south of the Grand American fairground in Orangeburg. You can't miss it, Bentons Pnuts is the only thing there at the crossroads. Get the Real Deal.

Mr VA.REB Sir

I hate to tell you this but you are wrong.I've been on the wrong side of the mason dixon line a few times.I was stationed in NC and VA years ago.Plus as much as I hate to admit it I live in the south now.VA to be exact.Someone has to come down here and keep you rebels in line and make sure you remember who won the war.
Grits? are you kidding me? I would not feed those nasty looking things to my worse enemy.Sweet tea is ok I guess but I prefer my tea with no sugar in it.
I will say this you rebels have some fine looking women.
But anyway carry on and I hope you do realize I'm just giving you a hard time about southern food.
Though I am serious with what I said about grits, that goes for collards to.
