He sure looked nice this weekend and I found out about several that had been hunting with this hound or had pups out of him that I didn't know about. All of these seemed to be starting pretty early to. He got in the timber without any encouragement, got struck, opened on track accordingly, pushed the track good, and came treed hard when he got to the end of it. The coons seemed to have moved right around dark becuause I was so wore out from driving we didn't get out there until a good bit after dark. The first drop he took off with his head in the air, struck one pretty close dropped around and came treed pretty quick. Second drop we sent him in from about 200 yds., out in a field. He swung around to the right and worked another bad track to the left, moved it quick and came treed. He was opening all the way on the track and came treed, like the rest, steady spitting them out. Last drop he struck right near us again as we were trying to get to the woods. By now these tracks were getting very cold. He didn't open as much on track but was what I would expect for such a nasty track, still nothing near the 5 min. range even though. Then he came treed I wanted to see what he would do on such a cold tree and after making him sure enough wait at the tree he was treeing harder if possible on that cold tree than the other two. Truley a slobber mouth tree dog when we got to him. Needless to say I really liked what I saw. If this dog had a handler that really hunted him and knew him I think this dude could be tuff. This is coming from me when I have seen some of the top hounds there have been go, Like Sandy Creek, Hattie, Timber Knockin Tex, Timber Choppin Dan, etc.. and of course my Jackpot Jackie. This cross I think could be very likely.
