I was thinking today about something a buddy said to me. He said that unless a dog is a Gr.Nt. then nobody will pay attention to them. I think he is right and I don't disagree with that mindset. But it got me thinking how many famous dogs or top reproducers can you name that were "just" Nt.Ch dogs.

Two that came to mind instantly for me were:

Nt.Ch. Hennings Chief

NtCh Yellow River Doc

I'm sure there has to be a few more that were good reproducers that "only" made NtCh. What ones am I missing.

Not trying to start a debate on Gr.Nt dogs. All respect due to them. Just trying to figure out in the history of the breed who the influential NtCh's were.

About NTCh Yellow River Red Doc. He died with 4 wins toward GRNT. I believe all of his wins were Big hunts. His biggest win I remember was overall winner at the UKC Winter classic.

What about the only Overal World Hunt Champion in recent times!
NtCh Timber Chopping Dan! Double Fireball bred hound with a shot of BTK on the back end. Wasn't Hunters True Too a NtCh also or am I thinking wrong? He was the sire of the original GrNtCh Timber Chopper.

Chris, Feather wasent a NITECH that I remember ever seeing... at least my latest paperwork doesn't indicate she was
