What dog food is best for fertilize.

In my efforts to become more self sufficient, I have decided to build a garden. My hope was to use my dogs poop as fertilizer.
So my question is if I want to use my dogs poop as fertilizer what type of feed should I be feeding and what supplements or additives should be used?

I'm thinking salmon would be better then chicken... I remember hearing a story about the Indians using fish to fertilize there corn.

I don't think the Indians had flocks of chickens so their choices might have been limited to fish or dead game.

I put chicken crap on mine. Chickens eat corn! So Id suggest finding the dog food with the most corn in it.

If i was thinking about eating what came from the garden i don't think i would use dog crap for fertilizer, you can use Diamond and don't even have to feed it first, Lol.

You wanna choose your dogfood based in what makes the best fertilizer? Or did I misunderstand? You'd be far better off to clean out someone's horse barn.

You'd be much better served considering what your putting IN your dogs as opposed to what you're putting ON your garden.

I would think that unless you diluted it way down, dog manure would be way too "hot" for garden fertilizer...

Horse manure is great to use,,but,,don't use any that the horses have been fed just oats,,YOU WILL REGRET IT,,I got some from farmer down the road,,all he feeds them is oats,,my garden looked like a oat field,,took me 3 years to get rid of all the oats in the garden

I was always told that if you want a lot grass and weeds in your garden horse manure was the way to go.
