Looking for stud want opinions!!!

Me and my partner are thinking about breeding this female next year sometime wondering if anyone had thoughts on what they think she would cross well with. Me and my partner have some Ideas but I am no breeder so others opinions would be appreciated.I know I like what this female brings to the table in natural ability she is also put together real nice.
Again anyones thoughts would be helpful thanks.

What a pedigree if you like T-Top hounds. Breed her to anything that isn't T-Top. Start sudying the "lists". Check the magazine and see who is winning and reproducing. Jet, Rocker, Woody, T, Danno just to name a few. There are quite a few nice studs up there in the Northeast now but I am not to familliar with them. Call Bill Lash. He seems to know what he is doing. The possibilities are endless. Or breed her to whoever wins UKC World Champion Redbone next weekend.

Thanks Richard I will check out the dogs you mentioned I think one of those was on Rons original list thanks for the help!!

I like the male to really spit em out on a tree 100 + bpm type. Thats the only thing I feel this female will lack but that may change this being her first kill season. She will have a show title (already has points) and should be well on her way to nt ch by the time she is bred. When she is bred will also depend on how much I campaign her next year. Also I dont mind traveling If the dogs in the lower 48 Im interested

Boones T-top on top half brother to Hazel if Im correct. She is heavy linebred T-top I think an outcross may be best but Boone was one of my first thoughts.

Just my opinion

I think if it was me, I would cross that heavy t top female you have to a well bred outlaw dog. One dog in particular comes to mind. G-MAN!!!

oklared, Rusty is one of me and partners top picks I like the way he is built and like the reports I read on his pups. Also cooter was a thought to.

Tony I know a guy that has hunted against G-Man he is from the northeast also and he told me G-Man is the real deal and hes owned a World champ or two so I think I can trust his opinion.

If either of you could send a video of your hound treeing or there one of there pus that would be great.

You could send videos via facebook (Jeremy Erho)

Again Thanks everyone for replying keep the thoughts coming

Your female already has more T-Top than the law allows. She also has an awful lot of Rusty Red behind her. I can't believe that I forgot about AfterShock. He would be another nice outcross.

You may want to take a look at Ragged Ridge Rip. We bred Rip's littermate sister Reba to Haze and that is the cross Boone come from. There were several in that litter that were making nice hounds but we had some bad luck.

Just something to think about.

I have a Moonlight and Outlaw Bred female pup here and I like what she is showing so far there was a male at Herschel Burts place where I picked her up I really liked he was outlaw bred Beyond Billy I think Id love to see one of those outlaw males go . There are so many options thats why Im starting my search a year ahead.

I have pics and a video or two of her (hazel) treeing on facebook.

What has crossed well with T-Top blood in the past? Again Im new to redbones learning though.

Check out Gr.Nt.Ch. Nighty Nite Moonlight Cloud.

These dogs might be smaller, but they don't lack in performance! The dogs in this pedigree have what this breed needs today......... SPEED!

His daddy Maxx was a smaller dog, super fast with a big mouth and a pressure split tree dog! Maxx started early and was treeing with his daddy at 4 months of age and was winning hunts at a little over a year of age. He won 1992 National Redbone Days at 3 years old.

This pedigree is stacked with big time winners and reproducers. Pepper Ann was/ is current #1 Reproducing Female and her mom Kate was/is #1 Historic Reproducing Female. Hard tree dogs with speed to compete with the best of the other breeds. Cloud's sister Gr.Nt.Ch. Nighty Nite Moonlight Amber is another big time winner owned by Roger Shabel and Team Pepsi. She won National Redbone Days as well a few years ago.

agree with doc holiday

Don't think you could go wrong with the Cloud dog. I have been out with his sister dual grand AMBER, and have seen what she produced, owning one of her sons.
I like to look at what the littermates of a stud or dam are doing also-- and I realize that not all pups are given a chance. but there are sure a lot of winners in Clouds pedigree.
Whatever stud you choose check out what his littermates are doing or did. I like to see families of "COONDOG WINNERS"-- not just one outstanding dog of the litter, sort of like a supper cross-
with cloud you'd also get some Pepper, Moonlight Kate, Too the Maxx, Pepper Anne , Timber Jack, Littleman, Talker and many more winners and top dogs of yester year.
you have a real nice bred young female there and lots of options, good luck with whatever stud you choose,
I know your partner has year of knowledge and he'll help with the right choice.

Hey Ron,
You would have to ask John Biggert on that one. He owned them both. I just saw him at Autumn Oaks and he said Cloud was a really good coondog. Nuff said!

Could someone give me some more info on moonlight Mac as well?
Also Info on the Cloud dog Ron asked about really interested in more info on him.

If anyone could post pics or videos of the above males that would be great I would love to here a video of some of them treeing.

You can find more info on these dogs in the Redbone Stud Dog section. They are all still living. Shane Maxey took videos of both Rip and Mac.

I'd be more interested in the type of dog they produce or how their littermates and parents ie family characteristics were than how the individual dog is. That is what you are actually breeding to.

I can tell you this, these are bred for competition and they all go hunting until treed somewhere. If you are looking for pleasure style dogs that hunt close and check back in, these will not fit your bill.

I THINK YOUR PARTNER RON HAS BEEN AROUND THIS BREED LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW MOST ALL THE DOGS IN THE PED. OF ABOUT ALL STUD DOGS OUT THERE AND HE CAN PROBABLY BE THE BEST TO HELP YOU TO DETERMINE WHAT STUD TO BREED TO,GLAD TO SEE YOU ALL HAVE CONSIDERED RUSTY AND COOTER,THEY HAVE BEEN HUNTED IN THIN COON COUNTRY ON COON THAT WILL RUN HARD ON YOU,THEY WILL GET DEEP IF THEY HAVE TO,AND WILL BE ALONE WITH THE MEAT A LOT.

I know Rons been around redbones since before my father was thought of my grandfather belonged to same coon club as him in the 60s. I know he and I would like to see some videos of the possible stud if possible and videos some of his pups If there old enough. I know me and him both just want to try and do something beneficial to this breed in the competition world with this cross whatever it may be.

another note had the female Hazel out tonight she got out 820 yds Jammed one up a tree quick and loud She didnt lock down till the older dog (Bull) checked her and backed her but she hasnt seen a kill season and was pretty green(I think) two months ago I showed her one coon and shes been this way since . Ten days or so and I can drop some coon for her.Ill post a link tomorow for some pictures of her from tonight!

This isnt a wisecrack I truly want to know Is 820 yds be considered medium or deep?

Thanks again everyone for responding
