!!!!!Please don't buy Rocky boots!!!!

Man I am fuming!! 2nd pair of Rocky boots I have bought and Guess what biggest P.O.S. boot I have ever owned. 1st pair was a set of Rocky lynx that I bought for strictly Deer hunting and never wore but maybe 20 times in woods. Pulled them out next turkey season and feet got soaked walking thru a field with just dew on it....... This year we went to bass pro at myrtle beach and I was forced to by another pair of Rocky snake boots for coonhunting because they had no other brands. Purchased boots on 6/13/13 and sprayed with waterproofing spray because of previous problem and guess what feet where soaked after hunting Thursday night. Rocky doesn't want to do anything !! and said for me to read fine print" boots are only guaranteed to be water proof for 6 months!!" ... They said I should have keep my reicept and box and carry them 6 hours back to myrtle beach... Pathetic...... I have 3 young kids and the only one that works. My money for hunting is limited and any extra money I have to work overtime for and I feel like Rocky is just like Corporate America they just don't care about the working man. Any person/ parent Reading this please don't waste your time and hard earned money buying a P.O.S product like this.

Justin Boots make a pair of waterproof snake boots that have a zipper on the side. I talked to a guy that was wearing a pair in my store and he swore by them . I am going to try a pair. He said he paid $159.00 plus tax.

i think

that i heard that rocky boots got sold a while back. probably changed manufacturing practices to cheapen the cost up so they could make more profit in the end. some people dont understand that good products will sell themselves and your profits will be more because of it.

bfreeman,,,if you can find a pair of boots that don`t leak while walking through heavy grass with dew on it then you have a water proof boot.don`t know why but dew will penetrate boots when wading won`t.best way to check them out is heavy dew.check it out!!!!

I have 2 pair of Red wing boots. 1 st pair I got in 06 they are slip ons. I have used them to ginseng, bow hunt, and coon hunt. I even wore them for work boots for a while and still no leaks. The other pair I bought in 07 they are Red wing lace up insulated and I deer hunt in the winter and have coon hunted in them for over a year now and waded 2 creeks friday night going to my dogs and still no leaks from either pair. The only bad thing I can say about them is the slip ons eat the daylights out of my socks. I haven't put anything on either pair to waterproof them and they are still going strong.

I bought a pair of Rocky slip on work boots, didnt last 3 months before they were leaking. They were replaced but was told they would not replace them again because of the work environment I expose them to. Never again.

I've been needing a pair of boots, but I won't be buying THESE !!

You might want to check & see if they have a Facebook page, then everyone post your bad experiences on their page....

I would at least send that company an email telling them WHY you won't be buying another pair from them...

If I am reading your post correctly, you threw the box and receipt away? I went through the same thing with Danner after only 3 months of limited use and the left boot went to leaking and a month later the right boot was leaking worse than the left.
I discarded my box and receipt too so therein lies our problem.
You can't just take the boots back without proof of when you bought them and expect them to give you a refund. For all they know, you had those boots for 5 years and there are many people out there that would do that!
I went ahead and bought another pair of Danners because they are so comfortable from the same place I bought the leaky boots. The leaking ones will be used for every day purposes but not coon hunting.
I called the manager of the store to the side and described my issues with the leaky boots and I had him to go over with me specifically what the store would do if I had a problem with this new pair and the first thing he said was to keep the receipt and the box. The warranty was good enough that keeping these two items was the least I could do should I have issues with the new boots.
Next time, you can bet I will keep better track of my receipt.

I got a pair of lacrosse boots that come 2/3 up to my knee, got them at a local gun shop for about 130 I think, I like them, haven't had any problems with them leaking and I'll have had them 2 years this spring, I got the uninsilated ones and they even do ok in the winter here in ny with regular socks as long as you don't stand around all the time

rocky boots

man if china bought them out like there buying everything out.
and destroying the reputation,on most American items they can buy out.is only to destroy, the American.made products, and make there own on our ancesters, secrets.and make there own product.so hurt our economy, even worst.

truth is.
My rockys are 6 yrs old, there in great shape.they have never leaked.
and soles are still good.
And I have hunted in them all yr.round with in that six yrs.
I would rub, crisco grease on them and let them soak in the animal fat.to help keep the life of the leather.and then add water repellent for leather.
and to this day.they still are great, and still don't leak, and I no I got a thousand miles on these boots.
but now China, owns them.I will buy my next boots off of my country, manufactors.tks guys for the tip

I agree old rocky's were great but the new china rocky's suck up water like a sponge and last about as long as one. I bought rocky , danier , laCrose and ended up with irish setter's that didn't leak and made it through bird & coon season. I'm trying red wing's now and they started leaking at 6 month's .5 diff. pair of boots in 2 yrs. only one descent pair what a joke hard to find quality.I paid over $140 for each kept my reciept and only had to pay for the one that didn't leak just kept exchanging.

I bought a pair of the original CORNSTALKERS when Rockies were still made in Ohio.
The first time I wore them in wet grass they leaked.Rocky refused to honor the leak proof guarantee.I decided I had nothing to lose then so I heated up snow seal and soaked it into the seal and all the upper outer material. That fixed the leakage problem.
After about a year the heals began to fall off.The boots and soles were still in excellent pratically new condition as I did not wear them much because I was disappointed in them leaking.
I took them to try and get new soles to replace the failing ones. The shoe repair shop told me he had replaced numerous soles on Rockies. They did not hold up.
I had already decided I would never own another pair of Rockies because they would not honor their l no leak warranty.
I now have a pair of Irish Setters that have never leaked , are tough as can be, and still going strong.

I just bought some new georgias after my rocky bearclaws gave up. Not even a year old and would leak in a rain puddle.
