Sam is a hard going get struck, (excellent track dog) get treed, stay put, chop mouth tree dog, not mean and has the coon most all the time. Sam is not perfect but he surely tries to be. I like him very much and Sam is one of the better hounds which I have owned in my life time.
Sam was purchased from Joe Moyer of W. Plains Mo. I have owned Sam Approx. 3 years. Joe done all of the foot work of training Sam and done an excellent job. I just put Sam in the hunts. Joe told me that Sam was quick to start. Sam has two litters of pups on the ground as of this date, the oldest being 10 months of age. The ones which I know of are very quick starters and could tree their own coon at 6 to 7 months of age.
---------------- SAM'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2012--------------
Ashland BBCHA Spring Hunt-King of Hunt (2 years in A Row)
Winter Classic-Double Cast Winner

Purina Race - Breed Winner For 2012
Triple Crown- Tied For Win (Lost By Tie Breaker) Black Gold Rules.

Sam was entered in one PKC event and won his cast there.
This year Sam will be in some PKC events.

This year 2013 at the Winter Classic sam had a cast win on Sat night with 587 1/2 points with no minus.

I raised the litter Sam is out of and hunted with him quite a bit when he was young. He started early and was a complete natural.

There were some nice pups out of his litter. I had a littermate sister to him that was extra nice too, but she was stolen while I was hunting one night and I never got her back.

Don't let his mother, Dixie's, lack of a title turn you off on Sam. She is a top hound in anyone's book, and would have easily granded out if she'd have been taken to town. She's also produced some nice hounds. She has about as much old Uchtman breeding up close as anything out there.

Sam is bred to be a top coondog and should reproduce his likeness, if given the chance. I hope he gets the opportunity to breed some top females. I definitely wouldn't be afraid to use him.

Congratulations on all of your successes with him so far Mr. Hubbard and good luck with him in the future.

I have a male out of Sams 1st litter with Rose. At 10 months he is still a pup and has plenty of matureing to do, but he has been one of the most natural pups Ive had in a long time. Got him out a few times over the fall before freeze up and he treed a few coon on his own. Its cold here now but in a couple weeks the coon will be back out and ruttin and I cant wait to get him back in the woods.

This is him at 6 months on his 1st wild coon

Heres a couple pics and videos of him in the fall, I belive around 7 1/2 or 8 months

Sam

I had the priveledge of hunting with Bill and Sam on two different nite and he looked like one should. Bill would cut him in and sam would get treed with the coon. I hunted Alice with him a few drops and both got in the timber and got treed with a coon. If I remember right, Sam was cut 7 times by hisself and saw him get treed with the meat hangin on all!! Bill was a great host and I enjoyed hunting with him. If your looking for a stud to breed to and like the way he is bred up, he could be the one to choose. I liked what I saw when I hunted with him. Good luck with him Bill, Danny G.

SAM

I've had the chance to hunt with Bill and Sam a lot and Sam is an extremely nice hound. No matter what you turn him with or where he always gets gone, gets treed, and has the meat. He is a real pleasure to hunt with. I've gotten the chance run him in several hunts and he always does very well no matter what state he's in. He is a really good track dog that can really put an end to them. I got the chance run him in the 2012 winter classic and he really made the grand nites he hunted against look like pups when it came to moving a track and getting treed. When he locates you can go ahead a put him on the scorecard because he's there to stay.

Thanks Bill for giving me the chance to hunt with Sam. I've really enjoyed our hunts. We'll have to get together again soon.

Ryan Rose

Thanks, Luke, Keith, Danny and Ryan and Jerrod
Luke that pup is sure enough a nice one and thanks so much for posting this on this site.
If you guys want to see a pup from Sam tree, click onto the 5th and 6th picture which is a video Luke put on here. He is a nice one luke.
Thanks again and best of luck with him.

Keith, thanks for helping out with Sam. You have done a good job.

Danny, thanks for your kind words about Sam. We enjoyed showing Sam to you and enjoyed having you and Alice there to hunt with us. It was our pleasure and you are always welcome.
Hopefully soon I hope.

Ryan,
Thanks for all the help with Sam. You done a good job in handling Sam for me. You and Keith are not big time handlers but good conhunters and called Sam as he done it. That is the way.
We sure have had some good hunts with Sam and Link, have we not? Hard to say which one will get the tree first. Link is the kind of hound which I like to run Sam with. very competitve and accurate. I have really enjoyed pleasure hunting with you and Rob.

Jerrod, thanks for the kind words on Sam. You and Tony Foley made a nice mateing when you crossed your nice female to Rattler.
Is there some more off this cross anywhere? Sam is the first dog off of the Rattler bloodline which I ever had. I am so pleased with him. He gives his all to you when you cut him loose and is showing me that he is reproducing some nice puppies. Yes, I agree your female has some of the good ole bloodline in her. If a guy could only see into the future on these dogs.

Best of luck with your hounds.

Hey Dave,
Thanks and when I talk to joe I will say Hi for you. Wish you could have brought your female also, maybe next time. I waited to see what Sam would throw from my personal females prior to running him at stud and from what I am seeing I believe he has got it. I will probably Super Stake him if there is a demand. Best of luck with you and your hounds.

What impressed me about Sam the most when I hunted with him was he would get gone and got treed by hisself, with a coon and do it pretty quick everytime you cut him!! Not many around I have hunted with I can say that for. It's common fact that it's not always that easy to tree a coon quick anywhere thier cut loose but if the coons are there, I prefer ole blue to keep his nose off the ground and get wooded quick, Sam showed me he had that style in him. I remember the nite I came down with Gauge and we hunted Magic and him together that nite. Magic was another that got it done. Good luck with finding a real nice youngster out of him. A bit of Sam and a little Magic, who knows what that could bring to the table!! Later, Danny G.

Thanks Danny,
Appreciate the good words you spoke of Sam.
We hunted Magic's Lace last night and she is one of those which will reach out and find a coon and knows how to work a track and get an end on it. Hopefully Lace and Sam will produce the kind we like to hunt. Hope to see you at Ashland this year.

SAM pup-Wisers Deluxe DUKE

We have been froze in up north here for quite a while. Our snow is still deep but it appears the coon have started to rut. We took Duke out tonite for the first time in a while and went 3 for 3. The 1st one was an easy pop up but the next 2 took him a while as he got an education on how these ruttin coon like to run and how much they like to travel rail fences when the snow is deep! Heres each tree.
