coons and cold fronts

Do you guys think cold fronts have an effect on coons moving? Yesterday it was 62 degrees today it is in the low 30's. I don't think the coons have been moving all that well in the warmer weather. Been treeing a few but not like I have in past years. Be interesting to see if they move tonight when its gonna be cold. I'm gonna try it. What do yall think?

Hit a couple tracks last night and both ran like they were in full rut, both tracks ended on big den trees. A lot cooler tonight and going to give it a go after the UK game.

Seems like when I see a bunch of coon sitting up. I don't have a very good hunt. Saw 4 balled up in trees like they had been there a while

made two drops, first was three ground barks and treed a big den tree 15 ft off a creek. second drop hit a track on top a quarry and ran it 200 yrds up a ditch with cut over and a spring running thru it and ended in a dozer pile. temp was 22 degrees with 20 mph wind, partly cloudy, a little light out from the half moon, barometer pressure was 30.27 and rising. never seen a coon sitting up or crossing roads.

I made 2 drops

First drop, was a dry hole. Second, dogs were working a large brushy ditch and my Leopard started working over on land I am not allowed on. I started calling him back in and was watching him work back on the Garmin. When he got back to the ditch, he fell treed and sucked the other dogs to him. Went around to him and he was on a den tree. I was about froze by then and loaded up. First time this season I had to put a zero on the calendar.

From last nite......barometer crashed, wind steady at 15 with gusts to 20, temps plummeted and snow blowing. First drop we treed a yearling. Dogs got pretty deep to do it not much track. Second and third drops were slick with a fairly accurate dog....called it a night!!!

I dont think cold fronts or barometric pressure are the major influences why coons are not moving, around here anyway. It has more to do with the fact that every coon in our county has been dogged, trapped, snared, spotlighted or poinsioned for someone to make a dollar. If they want to live they best being staying home. We'll get maybe a good night or two where they move until they come into rut. jmo

They usually move good right before a front. Treed four singles on outside and two dens last night and we don't have a lot of coon here.

Distant relative. Was hunting Trudy. Finley River Driver x my older female Babe. Not bragging, there were just a lot of coons moving.
