When is enough.... enough?

I look at these new and improved lights/ heads. Some strobe, some change color, some do both. When as a consumer can you say that, you know what I'm content with what i got. Size and weight are greatly getting better. I'm still using an old box light. And Maybe I can afford a five led head someday. What is enough for you? I can't see how much more improved it can get. What else are you looking for?

The main improvement I am looking for is a nice car charger. Then I will be truly satisfied. I know that I can put a converter in and plug my charger in to that but worry about fire hazard and space used. I want a nice little charger like the kind used on cell phones.

Some of it is useful but most of it is a sales pitch. Bright, dependable, comfortable and good customer service is most people’s main concerns and a lot of the light dealers can give you that. Find someone you are comfortable doing business with and when old fateful gives out on you give one of the new ones a try.

I am glad some insist on more and better. I am glad I have a registered dog and not a grade one. I am glad I have an insulated box covered in aluminum. I am glad I have a tracker that shows the road where my dog is heading. I am glad I have a bright headlight and a brighter spotlight AND that neither of them have a cord! I am glad I have a pair of boots that allow me to cross 4ft of water without getting wet and not weigh a ton.

I am glad someone is constantly improving the items and materials I use.

I will be content when they make an LED headlamp that has no cord or battery pack, that is as bright as K Light with a G2 head. Then I would be content and would want nothing else.

I'm sure when Henry Ford came out with the Model A, some guy on a mule said the same thing as above.
The answer is NEVER. That is what sets Americans apart from all the rest, we never say this is good enough.

I'm glad they've developed what they have . I'm a senior now and my sight & hearing aren't what they were, nor do I walk as far and fast as I used to. I get around just fine these days with a garmin, original Predator light , cordless spotlight for the big trees that coon won't look & also for shooting plus in most cases a pair of light weight gortex hunting boots. Also drive as close to a tree as possible. What I do won't all work in a score card hunt but keeps me happy most of the time. I hate to think about some of the old problems that just aren't a big thing anymore.

When is enough enough

We have three of the new boss lights with cats eye head and you might call the colored lens a gadget but the bottom line is it works and works well. To me it's as handy as a pocket on a shirt, wouldn't trade it for anything else I've seen or had! J M O.

I was brought up started out with a coal oil lantern, and carbide light. Take a double bit axe and a tow sack. Go back to the house and get the cross cut. 12 gauge shotgun with # 6s just in case we be lucky enough to see eyes. If tree was climbable, go up and jumpem out. I'm like y'all though. I'm always looking for something better. Any way we have less horses and bayonets, also.

this light is 15,000 lux and will burn for 7 hrs on high setting and 22 hrs on low. this light can be bought for 44.00. This is the same light being tagged by a light dealer as their own. buying a lot of 6 units and giving them away to the young folks around here. this is a bright little lite. will shine brighter than my 17 v on high and that is plenty bright no matter were you hunt.

What i had learned was shocking and down right discouraging when I see what some are charging for their lights that they DID NOT BUILD just tag them and resold them. Only a few are really making their lights. and most LED lights are not put together here in the USA. I have friend who just bought a well known light a few months ago and I found a supplier or maker of the light and i could have bought it from this place for less than half what he paid for it. I only know of two through all the reading and research i have done over the last weeks that still REALLY MAKE THEIR LIGHTS. LED CAP LIGHTS THAT IS. Thank goodness I bought one from these guys LASER TORCH is one of the two that make their lights.

yes i know it is. nearly all the heads are. all i am pointing out is many lite guys are buying lights already assembled and passing them as their own. You can buy these same lites from the manufactor and mount them to a helmet yourself. i was just amazed is all. and they are really cheap with warrenties from the manufactor

Got ya...Yeah I was actually looking some lights on ebay yesterday. Typed in Chinese LED Mining Lights. One in general came up for 54.00 bucks, it is being sold by 2 different venders that I have seen. One is selling it for 125.00, and the other is selling it for 190.00 bucks...I was shocked about that. And both vendors are advertising the light as thier "Pro" line of cap lights. Looks like they just shortened the cord, and screwed the battery pack to the helmet. Sent ya a PM

i still use a sunburst eagle III, made in the usa.

i cant see the coon with the led lights, they blend right into the tree.
used eagles for over 30 yrs and its still the best light for me.
the new III's aint any heavier then the led bag o battery belt lights.
the diamond head is alot lighter too. not as bright, but i have no need for such a bright light to find a coon.
and the eagles have a real walkin light.

yep matt you are right. you can get different lux ratings for just pennies on the dollar. i bought a lotment of 6 lights for less than 50 bucks each. super bright little lites with 15,000 lux rating on high. that will be as bright as most 17v lites on high. comes with 2 chargers per lite and low side burn time of 30 hrs and high side of 12 hrs. i still love my laser torch though

Laser torch is a bright light no doubt. A couple of my buddies use them, but they are just too tight of a spot for me. I use a sunspot light, and its a little too much of a flood light for some situations, in a real tall tree, you cant really zero in on things. I just traded in my old belt light for the new valley creek pro cap light with a red LED in it. Interested in seeing how I like that, heard its sort of a medium sized spot, not super tight, but not a flood light either.

They need to make a cap light that you can adjust the size of the spot like you can with the 5100 heads. That would be nice.
