I wanted to give my wife some time by herself, so I loaded my 3 year old daughter Emily and my 1 year old son Eric up, and we took the 45 minute drive to Conkey's Hound and Hunting Supply in Hastings, Fl. When we arrived, there was a nice couple purchasing a few DC-40's. Bruce has them on sale for $180. After they left (satisfied I might add), another gentleman entered the new store to purchase some Tri-Tronics accessories. Again, when he opened the shiny glass door to leave, he was satisfied, and happy to have his needed training aides for the upcoming deer dog season. Bruce was steadily answering the phone to help customers as well as the people entering his storefront. He actually leased the building next to his showroom so he could display the tree stands and dogboxes he sells.

He and I discussed the new Garmin Alpha systems, and I decided to leave with a system for myself. We must have shot the breeze for 2-3 hours. I even got to meet his granddaughter who had come to "help" out for the day. Bruce has some nice new "T" shirts he recently had printed up. My kids played around those shirts the whole time. Bruce took the time to talk with my children, and I found that to be really refreshing. Bruce's grandson (who works for Bruce), was at the UKC YOUTH event with Bruce's "Conkey mobile" to help out anyway he could. Bruce really does a lot for children looking to hunt. We all know Conkey's has great customer service, but what makes Bruce stand out is the fact he genuinely cares for those he is helping. Give Conkey's a chance to impress you, and you'll leave very pleased.

Bruce has always been super helpful and treated me and my family very well when it comes to purchasing stuff..........he has also gave me great deals on lights and boots for the youth hunters that hunt with me..........he's definitely got my business!!!

Glad you had a good time Josh!........I'd like to visit the store if it didn't take a days drive to get down there........lol

What they say about the apple falling and the tree. Well I was suprised to find John C Jenkins 1V at the Ga state youth hunt yesterday, Bruce is John's Grand Dad, And let me say BRUCE you and your company was WELL represented, John is a fine young man with the manners that speaks for his upbringing.
With that said NOW I know WHO has all the answers to the Garmin Questions. (speaker phone) ha,ha. in house joke.

Thanks Guys. Having a store has been a blessing in many ways. Not only to serve you better but I have had several customers that vacation at the beach take the short drive over and visit. Lucky to have John help me out. He left the store about 20 minutes ago with a 10 Dog Alpha system he is delivering about 40 miles from here and he is going to stay and get the customer set up and give some instructions on how to use it. We try hard to do what is right but by even doing that, sometimes with fall a little short.

When I was in college over that way, I used to go in Sapp's about 3 times a week just to hang out. Back then, Butch and Stan handled the front, and Jason and Mike handled the back. Took Mike bow hunting one afternoon. I killed 2 deer and he saw a few nubby bucks follow our Tink's 69 scent trail around like beagles on a wounded bunny. He took the bow section over when Jason went to Bear archery. Any of those guys still working over there?
