Welcome to the club, maybe it was the hunting but maybe it was your spelling skills (ultimatum)

I know alot of coon hunters across this country and can count on one hand the ones that have not been divorced }some three or four times} if they hunted much at all and took it serious. I am on my third wife and made the Decision many years ago that a good coon dog is much harder to come by than a good wife. Loose a wife and there is 2-5 hundred gathered for replacement at every wal mart.

LOL burnt threw a many girlfriends threw highschool lost one wife but i got to keep my kids it's better they learn from me than from her. Dogs cost money the casino cost you your life. Like i told everyone of them before my wife and everyone since her. I've been coon hunting long before you walk threw the door and i'll be coonhunting long after you walk out the door. The one thing that always made me mad is they think you always out messing around or having a great time coonhunting is so fun. I always took them and asked if they had fun they usually all said this is nuts you can have it. Or they get mad when you spent money for hunting. I proved it to a many of them take me out on the town drinking it's going to cost you and me a hell of alot more money for that than hunting. I can drink and been known to have them 200 dollar nights at the bars and that's before the local law man showed up.

So thrilled I made the leap of faith to meet him... Now I've gotta clean up here in NY and relocate to the lovely state of Indiana... An adventure it will be and I am ready for it! Possibly so, but anybody can read the eyes of a "woman scorned" in her own head kind of a thing and "He-- hath no wrath" like one of them either, especially over a stupid dog, is what I am guessing.

I have had the bad ones. But now I got one that wants to go everytime I go. She loves dogs. Loves giving them a job. Matter fact she got a blue heeler cross. I asked what you going to do with that? I was told Heelers love to please and no matter what she is going to make it hunt something.

My current one is kind of caught in a bad spot....her dad used to competition hunt but is 82 years old now. She is staying with them to take care of him and it would not sit very well for her to complain about it too much.

She does love my hounds and feeds if I get caught running late from work or something else comes up.

She tried hunting with me a couple of times but she is actually scared of the dark. I think the briars, hollows and falling down a couple of times didn't sit real well either.

Been married 28 years to the same woman. I have hunted hard our whole married life. As some of you know I take off for months at a time. It has never been an issue. I guess you just have to find the right woman. That or take good care of business before going to the woods :-) That or perhaps it the months at a time away that keep it working ;-)

Yep I wouldn't quit hunting for one unless I found one as loyal as my hounds and one like that wouldn't ask you to stop somthing you love.
You can go the other rout and just get one that doesn't want you around and likes it when you leave. Don't expect her to be by herself when you come in though. LOL

mine wouldnt go hunting if they were handing out free 100 dollar bills to go ! she just dont have a hunting / sportsman instinct about her even though she grew up in rural wv . the first few years she would complain about it and show her a$$ about it . but i explained to her a long time ago i live by the motto ( bros before hoes ) , iam not a womanizer or anything like that cause i appreciate a good down to earth woman as good as anybody , but my dogs where there long before her and theyll be there when you leave if you dont like em !!! and my dogs are my bros !!! now she dont say much , we work out time for her to go do things without the kids and what not - just requires alittle give n take i reckon .

I have taken mine a few times in the 33 years. Lets see the way it went last time I believe was we walked to the tree, coon walked out of tree, dogs grabed coon, woman started screaming at my dogs ( not get em boy) was screaming and crying at the same time, I was screaming get the ________ out of sight at the woman. She did finaly turn her back and walked off.
Now guys that was more stressfull than when I tried to cary her across the creek and we got stuck in the mud and fell. Yep a mile from the truck on a real muddy road.
YEP both times I called the dogs in and went home. So she stays in her comfies at home and drinks energy drinks so she can stay awake till I leave. LOL
She use to just go to bed but these days she sleeps in her chair or on the coutch till I get home.
Little brother just got a new woman and she thinks she might like to hunt. This will be interesting.
I have a nack of haveing fun when I am out no matter how it goes. Some more than others of course but it is hard to work your dogs and give what they need and stop at a good point in the night if you have to take people back home. LOL
