OT....Problems with mailing stuff...

IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS MAILING STUFF AND IT NOT GETTING WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO?

I HAVE MAILED 4 THINGS OFF IN THE LAST MONTH. 2 MADE IT TO WHERE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GO, THE OTHER 2 DID NOT.

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING TROUBLE? IN THE PAST WE HAVE HAD ALOT OF TROUBLE AROUND HERE WITH MAILING/RECIEVING STUFF, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S GETTING REALLY BAD HERE NOW.

I HAVE GOTTEN TO WHERE IF I DO ANYTHING, I TRY TO DO IT ONLINE. AND IT'S GOTTEN TO WHERE WE ARE ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE WHEN WE MAIL SOMETHING, WE ARE CONTEMPLATING USING UPS INSTAID OF REGULAR MAIL.

I HAVE HAD TO QUIT USING MONEY ORDERS TO PAY FOR BILLS, BECAUSE MY STUFF KEEPS GETTING LOST.

I WONDER IF I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE POST OFFICE AND DROPPED IT OFF, RATHER THAN PUTTING IT IN THE MAILBOX FOR PICKUP IF THAT WOULD MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE?

JUST WONDERING IF I WAS ALONE, OR JUST UNLUCKY OR WHAT. LOL.

A friend of mine mailed a package to me last month. All the way from North Dakota to Minnesota a distance of about 500 miles. Been about 6 weeks still havn't gotten it.

If its not a letter I dont give it to usps no more I basically had a 350 dollar item "LOST" as they say...but it was pretty much stole

UPS gets any items I want to ship.....always get full insurance!!!

If you mail a package USPS ,you can add a tracking # for just 75 cents. Selling the historical coonhound books ,when i first started .i had 4 that didn't get were they were suppose to. I started using tracking # ,and since then ,none has been lost. There was one time ,a book got delivered to the wrong address ,the carrier remembered scanning the book and were he delivered it,went back and got it to the rite place.

Christy does have it bad with the mail. I sent them a letter one time and it showed up almost a year later. We had already forgot what I sent it for.....

YEAH, AND THE WORST THING ABOUT THAT WAS IT WAS DATE STAMPED LIKE IT SHOULD, BUT APPARENTLY WENT FROM TEXAS TO ARIZONA TO CALIFORNIA, APPARENTLY HUNG OUT THERE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS THEN HEADED EAST.

THAT WAS NUTS! MATT KNOWS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. AND IT'S NOT JUST STUFF THAT GOES OUT, IT'S STUFF THAT COMES IN ALSO.

That's standard for the post office we use here at work. If they're scheduled to close at 5:00, you can bet that the postmaster will be locking the door and shutting the blinds at 4:45 or 4:50, especially if the line is long...

I AM GETTING A LITTLE PEEVED OVER THIS NOW. I HAVE MAILED PUPPY PAPERS OFF TWICE NOW. TWICE MIND YOU. AND NEITHER TIME HAVE THEY ARRIVED AT UKC.

HOW CAN I SEND THEM TO WHERE THEY WILL MAKE IT THERE?

UPS? FEDEX? CAUSE APPARENTLY THE USPS JUST AINT CUTTING THE MUSTARD FOR ME ANYMORE.

THIS IS 2 CANCELLED CHECKS I'VE HAD TO DO, 2 SETS OF PAPERS AND EVERYTHING.

OH, AND I SENT SOMEONE A LETTER 3 WEEKS AGO. SEND ANOTHER LAST WEEK. HE GOT THE 2ND, 2 DAYS AFTER I SEND IT, BUT NOT THE 1ST ONE YET.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

You can send them in a certified letter,,which requires a signature,,and if this is to expensive,,you can use a priority flat mailer for 4.90 put a tracking # on it for 75cents more Total 5.65..this will get it there.

These items that get scanned get special treatment

I MAY TRY THIS. I'M GOING TO CONTACT UPS AND FEDEX AND SEE WHAT THEY CHARGE JUST TO SEND A SIMPLE LETTER.

IT'S PITIFUL TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A LETTER.

As far as mailing papers to UKC goes, here is a situation I dealt with once. Knowing that regular mail can be somewhat untrustworthy, I sent 5-6 sets of papers via USPS Overnight to UKC that I was also paying to have expedited processing done on. I knew the mail would have to be signed for, so there would be no question of when/who received them there. I ended up having to have the post office track the overnight package after a few days of UKC "not receiving them", only time I've EVER had to do this and I send a report overnight for work every single week. Best I could figure, somebody at UKC dropped the ball on picking up certifieds/mail that had to be signed for. Now, this was during December, which I'm assuming was a busy time as far as registrations go. However, what should have only taken a week and a half or two weeks at the most ended up taking almost a month...the papers I needed for Grand American arrived at my house the Friday of the event. If it hadn't been for a friend driving to my house and getting them out of the mail for me, then bringing everything to Orangeburg I would have been screwed. Not to mention the $18.30 I spent for the USPS shipping and all the fees I paid for "expedited" processing on the papers. Haven't had any problems since then, but I quit wasting my money on certified or overnight and certainly won't depend on paying extra for overnight or expedited processing again. I just make copies of everything before I send it in, say a little prayer, and make sure when I'm having papers done I don't think I'll need them for a few weeks LOL....

I never tried "overnight" because I don't have to be in that big of a hurry to send stuff to a government agency because I know I won't get any action for a couple of months anyway. But I do send stuff "certified and return receipt requested". That used to work pretty good untill a couple of years ago. Half the time I get the signed for slip back and the other half I don't, but 100% of the time the agency claimes they haven't got it yet. Now I just drive the 50 miles and "hand deliver" my package to the guy who is supposed to get it. But, he has to take it to "processing" and he never sees it again.

I have had problems with USPS at various times.One or two that stand out in my mind... letter mailed and post marked from same town to delivery 6 days.Usual is next day.Another letter same situation 2 weeks from post mark.There is another which contained legal documents that I still have not received mailed several months ago.
I have three months worth of my Bloodlines that were not showing up.Had to have all three remailed.UkC put a tracer on them.In the last few years I have gotten all of them now less than a week from mailing date.

I will almost bet it is the sorting center.Just for kicks try mailing from a different area so your mail goes through another main area.Won't work for incoming .
My attorney that mailed the legal documents actually went to our sorting center and spoke to a guy that works there that he knows.He took him back and show him an area piled high with mail.Supervisor got mad and shooed him away.

It seems to me everytime they start complaining about cost issues and increasing fees things slow down .Soon as they get what they want service returns to normal.

file a complaint at your post office and drop anything in post office in next county over if its important ,,do a tracking/reg mail and should get where its going..

i had trouble with my mail here for a few yrs.. i think someone at post office was checking everything coming in or out of here..fbi/cia/or just an nibchit,but when i went to the next county and droped mail in outbond slot .it got where it was going..
