I got an 07 F-150. Drove from here to S.C., 811 miles one way through the mnts in WVA, Va, and N carolina and averaged 18 mpg. Get about 20-22 on the hiway in flat country.

2008 trailblazer w/ k&n air filter (although did not see any change in mpg). drive 160/day to work, get between 20-21mpg anyway I work it. got 20 before k&n too...not seeing the benefit this time. I did see a difference on my '03 TB 2wd.

That's interesting. 18 ? I had no idea an F150 could do that. Straight from the factory ? nothing special on it ?

How do all of you afford 15 to 30,000 dollar trucks? I cant get myself to do it.
I see folks all over my town that dont look like they can afford 2000 dollar trucks driving new ones around.
I drive paid for high mileage vehicles and get around fine.

True that.....its called being smart. I can't think of a worst investment (and that is using the term very loosly) than a vehicle esp a high end pick up truck, but I am glad people buy them, it keeps the economy running.

How can you claim to get 28MPG on the highway and 24MPG city when 4 cyclinder, 5 speed trucks and most cars don't even pull those numbers. I assume you meant 18 hwy, 14 city.

Lee, I can't speak for everyone, but I am a kept man. My wife has bought me my last 3 vehicles. The latest is a Jeep Patriot 4 cylinder 5 speed 4x4 that gets 30 mpg on highway.

Man I can't get over 16 mpg no matter what I drive except with the Wife's Honda Element, Good thing about that thing is it can haul 6 hounds with no problem ...

Yota Land Crusiers are the Only thing I drive most of the time plus I need something that will pull the Hound Trailer on long trips .. Then I get about 10 mpg ..

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the new 3 valve motor Ford has in their tucks. I have no idea what size motor it is but it's in the F-150. I think they are only a year or so old. I know guys that have them that swear they are getting 23-25 around town. I don't really like Ford trucks but that is pretty impressive if it's true.
