How do you like your Rock River cord pups

I have a 20 month old Rock River Cord pup that is doing an awesome job.She tree's her own coon with ease & will tree till you remove her from the tree & is about 75 % accurate at this time & getting better at having the coon the more she gets hunted. She is a first strike dog & quick tree dog. I am hoping to put her in the supper stakes this spring.
I was wondering if any one else has a young dog out of cord & what they are doing??

was just wondering. I was one of the last to breed to Cord before he went sterile and they would of been around that age. Good luck with her, sounds like a nice female

A lot of cord dogs around here. I have an old Nitech female off cord. Just a good pleasure dog and that's it. Real accurate. . . . Tom lechlitner has a grnitech female off cord. And there are about 3 others off cord here around the house that I consider top shelf coondogs that were just never taken to a hunt.

Where could a guy get a decent female off Cord?

Thanks Harry, I thought of you when it all sank in losing her at a young 8. I know what Ben meant to ya, and when they go so early it's hard to swallow. Take Care

I've heard from more people that don't like Sackett Jr dogs say good things about Cord and offspring and Cowee Creek Clint and offspring that I always figured they're must be something to it.

With my experience of cord dogs versus other sackett bred dogs is track power and drive. Cord dogs have it. And few other sackett jr. Dogs do. Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of ole sackett jr. But the cord dogs always go the extra step. I highly recomend a cord hound.

That razor gyp of tom lechlitners you hunted with. Is off cord. She isn't the "typical" cord style dog. But she is tough and I hate drawing her because the way she operates.

My favorite cord dog I've probably hunted with was one calledd CORD ROCK RIVER CLAYDEE. Tom also owned her. She was 10 times the dog razor ever thought about being. She was good strike dog. Quick tree dog. Accurate. She had it all. She had 4 wins and was winning her last hunt she was in with a foot of snow and hung herself in a fence......tom had turned down around 8 thousand a week earlier for her and she was the tender age of 2

Cord looked rougher around the edges than any other Sackett Jr bred dog ... he had muscle tone and fire in his eyes the others didn't.

Clint was similiar ... anyone breed the two lines together ?

Ben Crocker crossed his Cord female on Clint. The litter is just 2 I think. Ive hunted with 3 out of the cross and they are all nice dogs one being above average in my opinion. With some hunting the other two may turn out the same way.....

I like what I am reading about cord bread dogs so far, I know the female I have is not a finished dog yet but she sure impresses me so far. tree's the first coon up but will go as far as it takes runs a track with speed, quick locater, & stay all night tree dog. Normally when she does miss it is a cold track & think she will get better with age.
