MAJESTIC, YOUR RIGHT, CLOSET CABELAS TO ME IS WHEELING WV.

BUT I CAN TELL YOU ONE BETTER THAN THAT. MY DAD OWNS A GUN SHOP.

SUBSONICS ARE THEY QUIET? I KNOW GUYS HERE WANT THEM BEFORE SEASON COMES IN, THEY MAKE LESS NOISE IF THEY DECIDE TO GIVE ONE TO A YOUNG DOG.

I really like the STANDARD velocity shorts, they hit hard but are not loud....they pretty tough to find.......notice the key word(s) STANDARD VELOCITY

Our coons are so thin skinned, a Gamo pellet rifle works just fine.

Sportsman's Guide has them but they only sell them in a brick. Just bought a bunch of shells from them. They are one of the only ones that have .22 snake shot in stock.

I have seen them at Gander mountain .Why not just use C.B's.There is no dicernable difference that we could ever see between the longs and shorts so may as well use the longs will keep your chamber cleaner. One bullet I really liked was the standard velocity hollow point shorts.

WHY?

I like to use target shorts because they are much quieter. I dont really like the crack of a .22 long rifle. Also, on a clam winter night a .22 long rifle can be heard a long way.

i like shorts because it just knocks the coon out and pisses him off. makes for a good fight....lol. plus like someone said in a earlier post, our coons are so small a short is all you really need. a friend of mine uses a gamo pellet gun and it works good

I don't know how it is in IL, but out hunting here is chunked up real small and there are a good number of homes and farms all around. The best way to coon hunt in my part of town is the least invasive as possible. We are as legal as we can be, but its kinda like bowhunting vs. rifle hunting. The less people hear or see, the better off you are.

Not to mention you are shooting up in a tree the least amount of distance my bullet travels if I miss, the better.

Well said. I try to be as quit as possible myself. I carry shorts and CB's all year becuase you never know when the dogs will get treed close to a house. Nothing worse for giving coonhunters a bad name than cracking off long rifle shells in somebodys backyard at 3am.

" Just For Your Viewing Pleasure " Not that I would Ever Use it !!

This is a Standard 1/2" Lawnmower Muffler and when Using a Subsonic Round the Only thing you can hear (Using a Sim. Auto) is the Bolt Opperating !!!!

This Muffler need to reamed only slightly and then Taped on with a piece of wood and can be remove just as quickly ... "Which It Has"

I shoot the 60gr. Aguila SubSonics and when that 60 gr.s Hits a coon at around 900 fps it will Remove them from the Tree ... and Rearly Passes Thru ..

Mr. Majestic:

Even though it doesn't take much to excite me, that set up there sent chills down my back.

That's a nifty little coon killin poaching machine.

"Poaching machine or sniper rifle"? Let a law enforcement official catch you with a silencer and see what happens to you!!!! Most Wal Marts in my area sell CB's. The CB longs are quieter than the shorts for some reason. The CB longs are just as quiet as a pellet rifle if you don't use a rifle with a short barrel. The sub sonics that I have tried are more deadly, but a lot louder.

No Way I would do that around here, LOL, get caught and pay a fine go on, get caught with that and you may loose truck, dog and all, and there is a good chance you would get caught.

y'all dogs must be quiet if you need a to quiet down a 22.....or y'all are shooting out of season or something....or y'all care WAY to much about a hide that you HAVE to kill em in the backyards...

i DO carry CB shorts..but, only for those times when we do get treed in the back yard and happen to have the gun and the home owner comes out and says "shoot that garbage eatin sucker!!" we slip in a short and drop the coon down..rarely do we even take the gun anymore..

normally though, if were in a back yard, we slip in ASAP and get the dog and get outta there ASAP..

i just am pretty surprised so many guys are concerned about noise of a 22...you got ATLEAST 1 dog running track and treeing making all kinda noise...

just my thoughts...
