So you think they go back to the Wolf ??

I keep seeing where people make the statement about dog's goin back to the wolf, I disagree. You see GOD created all creature's even monkey's that I did not come from and Im just faithfull enough to believe if HE created cow's, chickens, swine (pigs), and horses which are domesticated animals then he created domesticated dogs. If you don't agree oh well but how could anything that is as loving, faithfull, and humble (to the point if you correct them they still will come and lick your hand) have come from man. We can barely breed good dog's how can we domesticate a wolf ????????????????

Well I belive we all go back to Adam, and I don't think Noah had two Yorkies,German Shepards,Chihuahuas,Great Danes, etc etc.on the Ark.I belive he had two Wolves(or dogs)and everything goes back to those two.I belive man shaped the many breeds to fit his individual needs.

I never said GOD created all the different breeds but I do believe he gave man domesticated dog's. I Do Not think man took a wild wolf and created all the breeds from there.

I believe Adam and Eve were real people but I also believe they had a darker tan than I do. There lots of genetic flexibility within each type of creation whether that is humans, dogs or birds.

I believe in evolution. Dogs came from wolves no matter what you want to think, it's a fact.

The domesticated animals you talk about were wild and domesticated by man. There are wild cows, chickens not so sure about, pigs, and horses. Yes our wonderful coonhounds are decedants of wolfs in my opinion.
Life is short don't worry about how they got here be thankful for what you have or had.

i'm a christain and believe the bible is fact, front to back. God created the wolf for sure and some kind of dog or dogs. if the fox wasn't on the ark then God made it someother way, maybe a mutant wolf.

What's the difference between a wolf and a dog, say a German Shep., that has gone wild? Answer: The Shep is worse because he knows how people operate is not as afraid of them. I think ol' Adam tamed him some wolf pups to get us started.

So you think they came from a wolf

Did they smaller dogs come from a coyote or fox? surely
the poodle can't have come from a wolf.

Poodles weren't originally a small dog, check the breed standard for standard poodles, they were first bred for hunting then bred down for foo foo lap dogs. Wolves are most closely related to dogs like Inuit sled dogs, those stinkers are about half wild still after being 'domesticated' they will still need to be handled carefully by experienced people. The other northern working breeds all have some traits that are closer to wolf than to dingo or arctic fox. There's probably more types of wild dogs that are extinct that we don't know about. The genetics of critters like the african wild dog or the various foxes and wild dogs around the earth sure all have some different looks. God is not boring when it came to making things interesting. The same one who splashed stars beyond what we can see is sure able to make dogs of all manner of size and character. The potential God gave us to breed for or select traits in plants and animals is a gift from God that we can use. It is called having dominion in the KJV. Dominion is especially good at meal times, otherwise we would only have wild game and foraged veggies.

Well put. But, not just dogs. Every time I go to a family reunion, I see idiots created by people.

Evolution makes no sense. If man came from apes, than why are there still apes on the earth. Why didn't all of the apes turn into men. There were more than just wolves in ancient times, there were also jackals and foxes. Evolution is not a fact. That's why its called the Theory of Evolution.

IF you have not noticed, Your Dog, is a Carnivore, You feed it dog food, made from meat.
Your dog is the result of years and years of breeding.
Its ancient ansestors were wolves.

Then you really don't believe in true evolution.

If you did, Wolves would now be extinct.
