It's a "different world" for a grunt. I use the term affectionately. I was an Air Force "grunt." No"9 to 5", your meal is a delicacy in a plastic bag (called an MRE), you sleep on the ground alot (or if you're lucky, in a vehicle, sleep deprivation is a way of life, you camo up so much you know your people when they have their "make-up" on, you shave and bath out of a helmet or canteen cup, taking your boots off feels better than getting a 10 minute power nap, you learn to operate on auto pilot, SALUTE reports and ACE reports dance in your head and METT-T isn't an insurance plan. "Avenues of approach" is a term that doesn't mean how you approach your garage to put your car away and force multipliers are something you might have to beg for.....Walkerman101, God bless you and come home safe.
