why do u say that. i know it sounds crazy to tree that many trust me i thought so too. I hunt near the beach in jacksonville nc and ur lucky to tree 2 a night and to tree 7 and a den tree is weird to me. Now im from ky and we can do that up there but didnt know u could do it in nc til i did it. 675+ thats after 200 minus and 3 coons wasnt counted do to it being timeout. like i said awesome hunt.

The only way this will not happen is if the guides are drawn out of a hat at random and if they are not being drawn this way, the dudes with the money could easily compensate a guide to start feeding coon a month prior to the event!

guides/bucketts

the only way you are gonna win a big hunt is if you have you a guide or your lucky to draw one of those cast. SETWD is a high scoring hunt and 99% is luck if you dnt have a guide. And the cast might not see the feeders but if they score on 3 or more I'd bet you anything they are there no matter what the man say

not all of us use buckets enoch. but alot of places that i hunt the deer hunters have bait piles out year round. the coons are still wild , just well fed.

we hunted a river real flat land and where we hunt in the mt. you could tell my jip dog was runnin a track alot faster. but around here comp hunts your huntin buckets MOST everyone ive hunted with maintain there buckets and only use them for nite hunts so they tree alot faster make for a good night that banker dog only had somewhere around 1600+ i mean thats alot of points but up here he would have scored alot better if he hunted the right hunts.. i hunt wild coon and dont touch my buckets and i sign on to guide so everone has a fun time and make plenty of drops in the 2 hours

BUCKETS

OR NOT IF YOU GOT A DOG THAT WILL TREE A COON IT SHOULD BE OK! NO ADVANTAGES JUST HIGHER SCORES IF YOU ARE GUIDED TO A BUCKET SOMETIMES! WE GUIDED AND THEY ALL CHOSE A OPOSSUM OVER A COON JUST THE WAY IT GOES. WAS A GOOD EVENT WISH THEY HAD IT EVERY MONTH!

i didnt "bash" any thing i said i guess it was just the luck of the draw man i wasn't talkin a bit of junk. sorry you felt that way but didnt mean any one to take offense to it just posting what i heard. there was more people than alot there i didnt talk to everyone just every now and then when someone walked in id ask em how they did. and it seemed to me registerd had better luck.

local hunts or big hunts the one thing you can worry about is your cast luck of the draw is what it is I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE SETWA AND DAVID A BIG PAT ON THE BACK A HUNT COMPARABLE TO GRAND AMERICAN WITH ONLY ONE LOCATION TO ALL THE GUIDES YOU ARE JUST AS BIG A PART OF THE SUCCESS AS ANYONE SEEYA NEXT YEAR

DAVID several of these hunting guides go down the road 20 miles and meet up with the real guide.I know one of your directors who lives 4 hours away who had a hunt set up 30 minutes down road

so whats wrong with that. it doesnt matter who guides once u turn the dogs loose its about treeing coons, not who guides or judges. yes sometimes it plays out to where the cast members decide the winner and not the dog but most of the time the better dog that night wins.

hunted thursday night

hunt started out good my dog and another treed one coon and scored . then we casted in to the other dog's one dog treed another still trailed my dog and judges dog treed about 30 yards from dog already treed , me and judge went to our dogs and tied them then walked to other tree - you could see a coon sitting in our tree by the sky light - other dog was on a den , when we went back to our tree coon wasn't there guess he climbed down, dog's were going insane while we were shinning other tree probaly watched him come down - lol , dropped again judges dog treed a doubled and ours was on down holler on a den , then here's were it went down hill - casted on this river bottom - dog's spilt tree , mine and another on a monster popular tree , judges dog and anoher on a bean pole no bigger around than a 2 liter pop bottle , we shine our tree my - self and guys dog treed find 3 coon sitting in tree one of which when light hits the coon it starts climbing up the tree , judge and guys dogs treed on slick pull the old i can't seen him trick , we go to their tree and juidge says its circle cause of a hole in it . gentlemen a adult coon cant fit into a 1 inch wide by about a 3 inch long hole , tree wasn't hollow it had a limb fall off because a big oak limb had fell beside it and broke it off they were both laying on ground beside tree , i question call , at this point iam at 150 plus judge is 200 plus , we should have left these tree's with me at 375 plus and him at 0 . we went on to other drop and dumped out and struck in one dog declared treed then moved and minused , judges dog and another hit a track and took out of the country my dog still working a track in the bottom of this holler judge and other guy take off walking to hear their dog's and walk right through were my dog is working a track so i elected to call interference on them and when the judge just about trips over my dog i think it should have been called , in short judge and other guy find their dog's treed and with a coon judge win's cast with 400 plus i ended up with 150 plus and the other's were minused , but it should've been me wining with 375 and him with 200 plus , but oh well there's always next year , and other hunt's , i will say there was no argument's or anything just some differences in opinion , and some shady calls made . by the time we got back to truck the deadline was 45 minutes away and we were 1.5 hours from club so we didn't even try to get back .

My first time guiding

This was my first SETWD hunt and my first time evering guiding. I was nervous the whole week leading up to it. I went to the same 2 spots both nights. Both nights different results. Fri night 1st spot the judge minused out on first drop. He judged 2nd drop then went back to hotel. That was 2 slick trees and gone in 30 min. This spot was 55 acres in north east Randolph Co. (have been feed year round by local deer hunter). On Sat night, this spot we hunted there about an hour treed 2 dens.

Fri night second spot (300 plus acres South West Randolph Co.) Only 3 dogs left in cast, dogs ran track bout 600 yards treed in the same tree that i hung a buket in just three weeks before, tree was slick and we all minused out. I was in the bed by 10pm.

Sat night same spot, treed 3 dens, 1 creek bank hole and ran a fox or cyote durning the last 15mins. 1 dog withdrew and the others minused out.

There were a couple of veteren hunters that said they enjoyed our cast and my spots as well as giving me pointers for feed bucket placement. I enjoyed the hunt and guiding and I look forward to doing it again next year and for years to come.
