If you hunt UKC you want Bloodlines, if you hunt PKC you get a Prohound free every month with your membership witch you have to have to hunt PKC, Full Cry seems to have gone downhill (Beagles and stuff), and American Cooner tries to cover all the registies pretty equally including AKC. It all just depends what you want.

I haven't really been happy with any of them for along time, but if I had to pick I guess it would be bloodlines.

The only reason I kept bloodlines around was for the hunt schedule, and that can be found on this sight just as easy.

Full Cry has been nothing but a bunch of cur stuff for along time.

Cooner is alright, just too much stuff in it that doesn't interest me. (like pages and pages of John Wick)

Prohound??????????give me a break, PKC killed there self around here, and the mag was a joke anyway. If a guy wanted to go to there hunts, there listed on that site just like on here though. I had a membership to PKC and got Prohound for a year, I cant remember even opening one up after looking through the first one. 11 went in the trash uncracked, 1 went in opened 1 time.

bloodlines and cooner are the two main magazines and they are both good, however i wonder just how much longer we are going to be able to enjoy them without a large increase in subscriptian prices. poastal rates, ink, and especially paper prices are astronomical. lets enjoy them while we can

I never had any problem reading anything on here or in bloodlines.

It wouldnt matter if they printed prohound in glow-in-the-dark ink.

PKC commited suicide around here. They shut down just about all the clubs for fraud, some of the charges I know for a fact were false, and barred just about everyone capable of running one of there hunts in the first place.

All starting with the fact they couldnt draw enough dogs for a hunt in the first place.

Ya know what each and every one of those clubs did, started AKC clubs in there place. You know what those hunters they barred did, started going to those AKC hunts instead.

Real smart "Pro"(pun intended) move wasnt it???

Sounds like you have something against pkc?

Hey here is a thought larry lets reward the coon treeing dog NOT the me too dog or slow track dog!!! Oh wait pkc does that.
Lets hunt for a 25 thousand dollar check and have programs for 1 and 2 and 3 year old dogs. Oh wait pkc does that. Lets give recognition to the top 16 dogs state by state and allow them to hunt against each other at the end of each year for the chance at a nice check. Oh wait pkc does that. Lets allow dogs to compete for a pick up truck every year. Oh wait pkc does that. Lets allow the best of the best to come together and hunt in a pro-hunt with 1st place paying 4 thousand dollars. Larry i enjoy hunting ukc very much matter of fact im goint to one tonight but if you think it even comes close to comparing to pkc then youre not seeing straight.

You missed the point where I said I couldnt even go to one if I wanted too. THEY CLOSED ALL THE LOCAL CLUBS FOR FRAUD.

lets see:

Have a state director barred for cheating......pkc did that.

Bar just about every person qualified to conduct a hunt in this area....pkc did that

Close every club that holds there events within 50 miles of here. Pkc did that.

Find out several dogs they had advertised as state leaders or breed leaders got there by fraud...pkc did that

Make false charges and refuse to reverse some of those cast wins that were proven legit. Pkc did that.

All starting from the fact they couldnt raise enough interest to draw enough people to those events to raise them.

3 dogs. couldnt draw 3 dogs.

I dont condone cheating for any reason. But I sure wouldnt want to tell the 1 guy that drove 50 or 75 miles, sorry its just me and you so we cant have a hunt.

By the way. some of those guys that got barred have WON that truck you talked about, not to mention having probably $100,000+ won on there dogs.

I just have a hard time getting excited about anything that has that much local history.

Man i would hate to competition hunt around there!!!! Sounds like a flat out mess!!!!

Usually there's a reason some clubs don't have many dogs (cheats). Pkc nor Ukc can completley control cheats. Trust me when i say they would not bar anyone without a reasonable doubt they were guilty. Keep in mind that's money there losing as well.

I'd like to hear the other side of the story..Something had to be going on up there to barr all those people..I'd bet PKC had some real proof of it to..They dont close a state down for drawing very few dogs..They dont care..They are getting their money either way!

There was never any question of guilt. The people confessed when asked. It was however a question of how many casts it happened in.

I know for a fact one cast that was thrown out was legit, I was on it. When I brought this up on to PKC, they didnt even want to hear about it.

The casts it did happen on, happened because someone drove 100-150 miles round trip and was the only one besides the hunt director to show up. Rather than tell them they couldnt hunt, PKC rules say it takes 3 to have a hunt, they added a dog that wasnt there.

They barred several people, and shut down several clubs. When it was over there wasnt a club around, or anyone left quaified to conduct the hunt if there was.

So those same guys went out before the ink was dry and opened AKC clubs in place of the PKC clubs that got closed.

Now AKC gets the money PKC used to get.
