no coon hunting for 16 days in wisconsin

Well the committee of deer hunters are submitting thier plan to control the deer herd in Wisconsin-- it's 3 different plans that will keep the coon hunters out of the woods!!!!!!!!!

Here in Wisconsin we cannot hunt at night during a "regular" gun deer season. That has been the good old "9 day season". We managed to save hunting for all the other gun deer seasons.

The plan now is to set up a "regular" 16 day season for gun deer
hunting and there is nothing in the plan to allow coon hunting at night.

Okay, here is what you need to do;
If you are a member of the W.A.S.D.C. , the W.C.H.A or a member of a coon club in Wisc. ----follow the link below to a survey and check the box for the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation. Pass it along to any coon hunter with email you know.

if not follow the link and check an Organization that you belong to.

act now

Survey Open: Noon Saturday July 18th
Survey Close: Noon Tuesday July 21st

in the "comment blocks" put something like, what about "Night Coon Hunting" or "No to 16 day deer hunt without Night Coon Hunting"

There will also be another survey coming out for all public input.

This one is important to get the word to the members of this deer committee

Corky, they sure didn't allow much time for that !

The way it has been the last few year's our coonhuntin will be over by the time deer season is done! Will that effect the CWD zone's as well?

This was the 1st survey

Hey folks

Thanks to those that did fill out the survey. This one was a test run for the committee's invited few.

There will be another survey comming out this weekend, that is open at all the public. We'll really need to spread the word on that one, The committee is looking at this last survey and are planning to make "edits" for the next one.

I'll be hearing if we gave them a "wake up call" on this one soon.

I'll let you all know when I know more.

Deer hunters will be the death of free casting hounds.
The vast majority would vote with peta to abolish any type of hound hunting 365 days a year if they could. Sad but true imo.

public survey starts this Saturday

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?...OR9latggQ_3d_3d

Well I talked to the Committee chair tonight he said that accross the different groups they heard from the coon hunters--about 10% of those that did the survey got comments about coon hunting during this 16 day deer hunt proposals.

We got thier attention--- thanks much.

Okay now come this Saturday the survey will be done again with any changes that come from the committee --if any.

I'm not hearing anything about a change or any notes about night coon hunting, so keep the heat turned up. Please pass the link above around and do the survey again on Saturday, starting at noon. the survey will run untill next Tuesday.

Pick the option plan you like ,but do make your comments again about night coon hunting.

thanks and get the word out.

Deer hunters

Well wait a min Elvis I hunt deer and the ground I shot my Boone & Crockit buck on I found when I was COON hunting. I understand what you are saying about SOME deer hunters I would like to take some of the DORKS that think coon hunting wrecks deer hunting with some night when our hounds and us run and walk within 50 feet of deer and the deer are still in the same spot when we come out of the woods. I coon hunt at night the same woods I bow hunt deer during the day for two weeks every year at my cabin and between my son and myself we have 11 bucks on the wall that range from 140 to 175 inches. So if any deer hunter out there thinks COON hunting wrecks deer hunting bring your boots cause your barking up the wrong tree........

That's going a bit far to state...many times I've hunted coon, get home and get 4 or 5 hours of sleep and head out deer hunting. I know I'm not the only deer hunter with coon hounds.

Survey open to public

Larry

I was told that this next survey is open to the public, so if you or anyone else has interest---- go for it.

Just keep the comments straight, like you would be representing coon hunters in your home state.

watch and see, sounds like its already started in wisconsin.
yea, your not the only deerhunter that coonhunts, but you are outnumbered 1000 to 1 and 900 of those 1000 wish you couldnt turn a dog loose anytime ever. You mite chase that prize buck over to someone elses lease. when it comes to jealousy ,deer hunters are way out in front of everyone.
I deer hunted for years and quit cause i didnt want to be in anyway ascociated with them.

Elvis is right, deer hunters are the worst. The deer/coonhunters understand. The deer hunters alone have no clue and there are many deer hunters that dont know what a coonhound is. Lots of places we cant hunt down here during rut season, for deer hunting leases. Those two hand in hand work together.

Some relatives of a friend of mine hired a bioligist to help them manage the deer herd on their property. The first thing he told them was that he had seen some dog tracks when he did a walk thru and that a dog is a deers worst enemy and they must keep all dogs off their land. All hound hunting ended on that property right then and there. As a matter of fact, they just settled a law suit because they shot and killed a coyote hound that had gotten on their land.

Its the same way hear in Michigan deer hunters have no respect for any other way of hunting thats just helping the non hunting org:and are not seeing it adding fule to the fire. Its not our fault they dont scout an aera out throughly and are lazy and then their is the fact of other deer hunters are their only compation they just dont want to admit it so they b***h about the dogs pushing the deer around.

fresh out of Madison today

Who should respond...anyone who has an interest in the Wisconsin deer herd! THIS IS A GENERAL PUBLIC SURVEY AND DIFFERS FROM THE ONE YOU ALREADY MAY HAVE TAKEN. You don't need to be personally invited this time...so spread the word! Send the link to anyone you know who may want to respond. The link will also appear in many newspapers around the state this weekend.

This survey will begin this Saturday, July 25 at noon and continue through noon on Tuesday, July 28. Rather than using a special link, all you have to do is go to the following website:

www.wiherdcontrol.org

Thank you for contributing your input. The survey will open at noon Saturday July 25, 2009. Before that time, the Committee welcomes visitors to this site to review the information it has gathered and its activities over the summer.

From Keith Warnke-WDNR

"I'll be back Sunday, heading up to train bear hounds"-- Corky
