I have never hunted with the dog, but I would say that he cleans up at the hunts.

I raised Ajax from an 8 week old puppy. He was one of my favorites. I was hunting him alone and treeing coon consistantly at 5 mnths old. He probably has more pacman in him than any dog alive today.
He was a bit tight mouthed but not silent. As he got older he figured out if he flew around the timber edges and down fencerows and such he could bushwhack those easy coon, but he was very capable of trailing one up.
He had a nice mouth but it was a bit soft. He didnt pull many dogs to him.
He was a high maintanence dog and you had to feed him just right and keep him feeling great in order for him to operate right. When he did he could realy put on a coon treeing show. He put up some tremendous scores.
He was a 60 lb dog solid blanket back with a red head.
He would sit back and stay out of trouble on every tree. I never had him in a scrap.

Ajax is living out his days in a climate controlled doghouse and getting hunted a bit as weather permits. They love him down there and say he still trees the fire out of them coon when its cool enough to hunt.
As far as I know he has never been bred. We talked about it a hundred times that we better raise a litter from him and see what he produces, but we never did.

I drew Marv hunting Ajax in a PKC hunt five, maybe six years ago out of Wyatt Indiana. I'm telling you we went hunting in the worst thunderstorm I think I've ever seen....

We were NUTS for turning dogs loose. It rained sideways for an hour, lightening striking everywhere around us.....just plain dangerous.....

My dog went and hid under the truck....another dog went missing completely....

Where was Ajax? You got it....parked himself in the middle of a section of timber .....under a coon.....probably the single most impressive hours worth of "pull one out of you butt" dog work I've ever seen.

Ajax

Would a female out of What's Up Doc and Psycho's Suzie cross well on Ajax? I have heard nothing but story after story about Bellar hounds-- not worth repeating. Decided I would buy one and just find out for myself. Tremendous tree dog with outstanding mouth, not fussy, great personality. She made a bench ch already and should make gr. Likes to get by herself. Going to hunt her this season and Nt. hunt her next spring.
Has anyone drawn semen on Ajax? Is he at Kyle Creel's? Stud Fee?

I raised and started a female out of stylish bozo and a rat x waltz shark female. She started easy and early naturally strait. She was fast, got gone and stayed tree'd she was fairly accurate and wouldnt back another dog. I sold her to a pleasure hunter and im trying to talk him into breeding her to Ajax.

Shes been in one hunt and won her cast. Will prob never be pushed in the hunts but is a coondog.
