Have you measured the Ear Span from Ear Tip to Ear tip.
Looking at the photo, I would bet its about 28 Inches.
You dont see very many anymore with those long ears.

like i said, im just now getting him today, so i dont know his ears span. i bet its on up there though. and yeah i like the long eared dogs, too. the other dog im getting today doesnt have too long of ears, and hes 100% broke he was 3 last december. by the way, does anyone know how to make a dog throw a lil more mouth on the ground and tree alot harder?

the pup in the pic has alot of jet blood in him. is that a good line, bcuz i dont know much about b&t bloodlines. i do know that he has alot of old blood in him, thats what gives him those long legs and long ears

Vacooner, the amount of Mouth a Hounds gives on the ground, and the way they tree are due to their breeding and varies from hound to hound.
If your hound is tight mouthed on track thats good, I like a tight mouthed hound. If your hound trees accurately and stays put.
Barks per minute, dont mean anything. Long as he barks eneough for you to know where he is, is all that matters.
Good luck with your beautifull hound.

Majestic Tree Hound,

You are the Ear Master.
27 Inch Ear Span. you could starch that hounds ears, and he could fly up there and knock the Coon off the limb for you. LOL

thanks, ive heard that the more the dog is hunted adn the more coon shot out to him will make him tree harder and theres gotta be SOME WAY to get him to tree harder. he'll tree, look up at the coon, tree, look up at the coon, and so on hes got the coon about 95% of the time by the way that guy talks. and BTW the one in the pic aint the one im talking about, hes just a started pup, the one im talking about is an older 3 YO B&T thats got shorter ears and hes a lil smaller than the one in the pic. ill try to put a pic of him on here

Vacooner, Shooting Coons out has nothing to do with it.
If the Hound stays put, he is doing good.
95% is dang hard to beat.

Vacooner
Ive got a Vieo of my Hound treeing a Coon, on my Cell Phone, I just havent figured out how to post that though.
Unfortunately its not a Black and Tan.
But it is however a Freekisly Accurate Five Year Old Treeing Walker gyp. She is a Meat Hide dog, tight on track, and when the leaves are off, I will bet on her when she is Treed.
