Chris, I bought one at autumn oaks this year. It looked like a nice little gadget for only $20.00. I think it lasted two or three hunts for me.I am not sure. It was not very visible for one thing. Then I loaded my dog after a tree,he jumped up into the box and broke it as he was going through the door of the dog box. It is now on the heap pile with some other equip. that didn't work out. I am sure others had better luck as things like this only seem to happen to me.LOL

I love Mine. I have blue one on my dog right now. Because I am lazy it ahs been on her constantly for the last three weeks. I just gve it a twist when I get her out of the box and off she goes. She tends to be kind of silent so it helps when I am looking for her to head for the house. I personally love mine.

I LOVE 'em!

We have three of them.... two blue ones and a red one. We have had them since Plott days about what 2 or 3 months ago and they are still going strong. I have been hunting my female about 6 nights a week and about 3 or 4 drops a night and she is a hard going dog and hers is still holding on good. it is clearly the best lighted collard i have ever spent my money on....all the others ( bright eyes, foggy top, magnum, etc...) all lost their juice after a few weeks and grew dim but not these ones, still bright as ever.....i really like them.....
here is a zoomed in pic i snapped of my female up in a tree about 30 yards away from the camera NOT INCLUDING how far up into the tree she was.....and this is with out the flash on the camera....look how bright the lighted collar is and this was about a month or a month and a half after I purchased it!!!

happy hunting and take care

if anyone would shoot at a flashing light they sure wouldn't be able to come up with a lame excuse like they thought it was a coyote..

WE BOUGHT TWO OF THEM AT AUTUMN OAKS AND HAVE USED THEM SIX NIGHTS A WEEK SINCE THEM IN THE MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA AND THEY ARE STILL GOING STRONG. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE TO ANY ONE ... PLUS YOU CAN TAKE THEM OFF OF ONE COLLAR AND PUT THEM ON ANOTHER.....

I did not say that I did not like them, I really do.But my strap broke off in only a couple weeks. My friends did not last that long and the straps broke. I was just wondering if ours was the only ones that done that.

But that is what electrical tape is for... lol

I personally purchased three of them. Red,Blue & yellow. They get used almost every night & one in particular has done its thing every single night since I got them 6 week's ago or so & have not had to change the batteries yet.

The Blue on is superior to the other's as far as visability goes in my experience but what a cheap groovy way to see what dog is doin what. Once these leave's get off I reckon you'll see them a long way's off because we can now when the get in a spot so we can see it. Pretty interesting to "see" what unfolds along with hearing it. You'll know who is sluffin around a tree & stuff.

I broke a strap as well on one of mine but I was tryin to force it onto a double nylon trackin collar, the old style. I was expecting it to break considerin the stress bein put on it so I just used the black tape myself & life is good.

Either way $20 or $25 buck's is pretty cheap investment to add a lil of that "KEEP'UM SAFE" peice of mind thing. I will never turn any of my hound's loose without packin a Tracker flashlite again!

I forgot to add that there have been several occassion's where our hound's end up in rock den's & them thing's take a beatin & have yet to have one break. Couple got some deep gouges in them though.

Just my take on this subject !!

I've thought of the fact that its makin it easier for someone trying to shoot your dog but Dan Dogs also has a good point theres no excuse for thinking they're a coyote or somethin like that.

I got two of em myself, a blue and a red. I love my blue one, it has surprised me how far and where you can see it down through the think brush in our woods. The red one I'm disspaointed in, once the dog enters the woods thats it, not near as bright as the blue. I've used both around a half dozen times, so far they're holding up but time will really tell.

Kellie how do find your red & blue compare?

Fred Moran just had his Rocket dog shot and killed while wearing two,a red and a blue one. They were still flashing when he located Rocket's body in the woods .The woman that shot it said she thought it was a coyote.Pretty high tech coyote.

that is pathedical ... what coyote is honestly going to be running around with flashing lights on it.
They will deffinatly make it easier for someone who is intentially trying to shoot the dog shoot it thats for sure.

i have 2, got them when they first came out, i run my dogs 4-5 nights a week, 2-3 drops a night. Havent had any problems yet. I run mine on TRACKER strike collars. They seem to fit perfectly on those collars. If mine ever break I'm sure I'll try to tape them on or something. I really like them.
