Purina Pro Club ??

I've recently became a member of this, because I want rebates on dog food. I feed regular Purina Dog Chow....from what I understand, that would be 8 pts per pound.....that means if I have a 55lb bag, I'd gather 440 points.....is this correct, or am I missing something??? That's how I read it, but I know there are a lot of people on here that know more about it than I do.

I can not remember how the points work but I have about 10 bags worth of weight circles if you would want them. I do not feed purina any longer so they are just laying around here.

I'm pretty sure its just 8pts per bag. But I may have missed that too...lol. I was assuming it was 8pts per bag...gotta save up a lot of points to send em in.

So its not per bag?? It really is 8 pts per lb? If so, that's not a bad deal at all!

We switched to Purina from Diamond a few years ago for two reasons...
(1) Diamond dog food killed one of our dogs and made several others sick during the recall and nothing was done about it.
(2) We fed so many, 7 adults and a litter of pups at that time, that we racked up points fast.

It's 8 pts. per pound on the dog chow.
You get 11 pts. per pound on the Pro Plan
I think it's either 11 or 12 pts. per pound on Purina O.N.E as well

When we joined you also got additional points for referring members and then also a once a year bonus for remaining a member. We got over 1,000 pts. for free that first year. They stopped the breeder referral program this year for some reason.

It's a nice program, we usually save the points up and wait for big events like Oaks, or the Christmas holiday, and then send off for all sorts of gift cards. We eat very well at Oaks for free! And it's great to give gift cards away at Christmas that we don't have to pay for.

I just unloaded 21 bags of Hi Pro from TSC that I got for $11.00 a bag for 50 lb bags.

Most of the Purina feeds are 8 pt. per pound......but I think the more expensive Pro Plan...is worth 12 pt. per pound.

Good feed at a good price!!

I joined and Purina said they will be sending me 350 a year at 7.00 a bag. Works for me. I was giving my weight circles to a buddy just because I haden't checked into it.

Suzanne, did you call them and inform them of this? I've been feeding Diamond for quite some time. Through that recall they were very helpful. I called them (thank God Dave saves bags to use for trash) I told them how many bags I had readily available to give them the product number off of, and they re-imbersed me for every sigle bag! (13 bags. The lady did seem surprised that I had all those bags!) Also told me if I felt my hounds were sick or even acting funny, to take them to the Vet of my choice and they'd pay for that too! I now feed Diamond Naturals. All my hounds perform and look top notch. I refuse to feed a dog food that has corn in it. I like the Omega-3 and also the glucosomene and condroitan (sp?)

Just got the paperwork to send them in. I'm lazy..I need to do that! Does anyone know if Sams Club takes the cupons? I've found them to have Hipro cheaper then TSC, but dont think they take cupons do they?

Mona,

Yeah, we called immediantly. We lost our youngest dog, and three of our adults looked HORRIBLE! We had two others that were on different diets and they were both fine. We had a vet that works with Diamond who called about twice a week for several weeks, he said that they would be in touch with us in the "near future" about conpensation for our lose. We never heard anything back from them. I called and left a few messages a few weeks later, never got them returned. We had two of the bags left, took them back where we bought them and got a refund. I had an empty bag of the contaminated stuff I kept all this time until we moved, just in case they did call back. Trashed it in August of this past year.

Was not impressed AT ALL with the way it was handled.... I have that screw me once shame on you, do it twice shame on me philosophy and will never feed Diamond again regardless of the quality of their product now.

website to join

http://www.purinaproclub.com/

they no longer give referral bonus points - they also give you 500 points a year on an active account for anniversary bonus and when you go platinum the anniversary bonus jumps to 1000 points.

another link

from purina pro club that shows values

http://www.purinaproclub.com/public/tools/chart.asp

It takes 7000 points to get 10 checks for $7 off one bag purchased. You can also get Cabelas gift certificates (which I have tried not to tell Ax about . . . lol) - checks made payable to your vet - clothing - gift cards to eating joints - etc.

We have always taken the checks and feed the pro plan as we like what it does for our dogs health and overall appearance AND it's like having hired kennel help when it comes to cleaning when feeding pro plan - there's less poop to scoop!

We find that it's pretty much self sustaining in that we very very seldon get caught buying dog food with out a check - if I do it's my fault that I didn't send in the weight circles.
