which is the better boot in your opinion?

here is what i am lookin' for:

durability
versatile in warm (below 60deg.) and cold weather
comfort
lightweight

both companies advertise as such, but what is your experience with them?

I never had the bogs, but Iv used lacrosse for years and had good luck. I just bought my first pair of mucks and I believe they are even better than the lacrosse. Bought mine from Valley creek with heavy chaps and they seem to be the best Iv ever had. Time will tell.

I love my Muck boots, both pairs. I have one pair for barn work and one pair with heavy weight snake chaps for hunting. You couldn't ask for a more comfortable, warm, and tread worthy boot. THUMBS UP FOR ME!

I thought Ive read more then one time that the muck boots didn't last. I have always had good luck with the Lacross I bought from wick with there chaps sewn on them.

I never purchased a muck because of that.

My bog boots leaked after about a few months, The seams on the chaps leak as well as where the chaps sew to the boots. The boots however are comfortable

Bogs are cheaper but they don't hold up to great , or it could be because I wore the crap out of them. I don't think they make them in camo anymore. So I think ill get a pair of those new mucks that came out a while back. As far a huntin and farmin boots in general Ill always use neoprene. I guess because of the extra cushioning in the sole but they seem quieter when i walk.

I love my mucks. Once you wear one you will never go back to the lacrosse burly again! Trying to convince the old man, but its pretty hard when you start spending more time driving the truck

Mine are Muckmasters! They have a good sole and are tough but they are heavy and cumbersome. Easy to get on and off but pull off my feet when stuck in mud.

I have a pair of Lacross Burleys with the spike soles and a pair of Granges. They are old. I have snagged holes in them from barbed wire and patched then up.

I bought the Mucks because I liked the looks and had heard the raveing about them. I now wish I'd bought new La crosses instead.

I have a pair of muckmasters with the chaps sewn on I love the comfort but the sole dont have any traction when climbing slick hills or while walking slick creek beds. I have a pair of alpha burlys with the chap sewn on from G.T.'s and they are real comfortable and They get good grip in whatever type of terrain I put them in. If I was to buy another pair I would buy the alpha burlys just because they will not let you slip and slid all over the place and are just about as comfortable as the muck.

I've had alphas and mucks.. I've worn out a few pairs of mucks. Wore the lacross 1 night and swapped em off... They bout killed me. Bought some alpha burlys to deer hunt in also. Same thing.After a few hours they killed my feet..The ONLY problem with the muck is the liner on the inside at the hill wears out. Its not just on mine but nearly everyones does. I still like them 100 times better than the alphas...

I like the Muck Boots, with Heavy Chaps,
I have a Beat Up, Three Year Old, pair, that probably have more miles on them than most used cars, and a brand new pair, thats as comfortable as a pair of sneakers.
I have been wanting to get a pair of the Rockies, with Heavy duty chaps, I bet that would be the ultimate Coonhunting boot.

Dont get the Bogs Jason! The boots are not very durable. I never had a issue with my chaps but the boots cracked after a few months and leaked like a sieve. I didnt really like the Mucks that I have worn. Never worn the La Crosses but have heard lots of good things about them.

to me they fit my foot better and are more comfortable than Bogs.

I have a pair of insulated Mucks with the heavy nylon claps.... I've had them going on 4 years, they have more miles on 'em than a rented mule and are just as comfortable as the 1st time I put 'em on, they don't leak & still keep my feet warm (sometimes hot)......

I also have a pair of insulated 16" Alpha LaCrosse boots that I can't even remember how many years I've had 'em... I've been as rough on them as a barrowed goat.... they are still comfortable and they don't leak... the tread on the soles are getting worn down, also the bottoms of my pant legs have worn the camo pattern off and the insulation is a little worn out (but unless it is real cold my feet stay warm), other than that they are still good..

when it is time to replace the hip boots I will stay with the Muck w/ nylon claps and when I replace the knee highs I will stay with LaCrosse.....

years ago I went with cheaper brands & was replacing them every year or two.....

My experience with the muck boots have not been a good one. They have left the impression on me that the are not durable enough. I love how light they are, they fit my feet very well, they have better traction than the lacrosse hikers and are very comfortable. I had a pair made into froglegs from Wicks two years ago. I am still wearing them becuase I have not made it back to Wicks yet(I better hurry up). But I can hold more water in my boots than a 2 gallon bucket! My mucks actually look like I got into a fight with a bobcat and it took its claws and shredded the outer layer. Up until this pair I have always purchased the hikers, but I stopped because after a years use I had the tread wore of the soles. Unless Muck has come out with a heaver gauged boot with the same profile as the other. I believe I am going to the Lacrosse Burly, I do not like wearing insulated boots in the summer but I like the tread the Burlys have glued to their soles. I can almost always put a innertube patch on the lacrosse holes. But the Mucks seem to rip open? What does muck have available now. I am sure I am not the only one who has has duability issues with them?

Look closely at the Bog boots. See how low the neoprene is on the ankle compared to the Mucks? Thats right where sticks and stuff are gonna poke through and cause leaky holes. Try walking through a cut corn field with those things, the stalks will rip em to shreds.

the only time i got them tore up was from barb wire fences or a coons bitting threw them. Then you can pacth em with a bike intertube patch. I have used them for years with the wick froglegs. Very comfortable and warm!

never had the bogs.... but I am pretty happy with my muck boots w/vally creek chaps... seam to be holdin up pretty good.

an old man bought me a pair of 18 inch lacrosse boots 15 years ago from an amish man. I have put a lot of miles pup training on this pair and the other night the right boot sprung a leak crossing the Blue River in about 10 inches of water. I just ordered a new pair this week from huntsmart.com. I hope I get 15 years out of this new pair. However, the lacrosse boots can be heavy and a pain getting them off.
