Need Help Making An Important Decision..

THIS IS GOING TO SOUND AS QUITE A SHOCK TO SOME, AND MAKE OTHERS SHAKE THEIR HEADS. WE HAVE MADE AN EXECUTIVE DECISION TO BROADEN THE SPECTRUM IN OUR KENNEL. SEEING AS SCRAPPY KINDA BLEW THE WHOLE 'ALL BLUE' SCHEME....WE'VE DECIDED TO ALSO INCLUDE A BLACK AND TAN, A PLOTT, AND A REDBONE. DAVE WANTS TO ALSO ADD A REDTICK.....BUT THAT'S STILL UP IN THE AIR.
I'VE ASKED A FEW PEOPLE'S OPINIONS, NOW I'M ASKING YOURS. THE PLOTT HAS ALREADY BEEN CHOSEN, SO THE BLACK AND TAN, AND THE REDBONE IS WHAT I NEED. JUST TO ADD THIS, IN THE BLACK AND TAN I'M LOOKING FOR BIG BLOCKY HEAD, WIDE CHEST AND STOCKY BUILD FOR A MALE. IF A FEMALE IS CHOSEN~ I TRUELY LOVE THE LOOKS OF FELONY. AS FOR THE REDBONE, 'ONLY IN AMERICA' MAKES ME DROOL EVERYTIME I SEE HIM. PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE. WHEN I GET TIME, I WAS GOING TO GO BACK THRU THE LAST FEW YEARS CB ISSUES AND TRY TO FOLLOW THE BREEDS, THIS JUST SEEMED ALOT EASIER. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.....MONA

Mona. I have some friends about 10 miles from here with a male out of Only in America. He's pretty sharp and already GrCh. Big houndy boy. Last I knew she was considering selling him and starting a new prospect. I could see where she stands if you're interested.

First off, I never claim to be a 'TOP' anything. I'm just me doing what I can when I can. I know of many 'TOP' sportsmen/women with many breeds. Look around you.

i would definitly try dale criggers for pups or any redbones. dale does have pups at the moment. His pups are excellant hunting and showing hounds!! for 'only in america', not to put the dog down, but basically show hounds from what i gathered and followed with the offspring. if that is something you are just interested in, then try that but dale criggers dogs definitly proven to hunt and show which is excellant to get.

Thanks, what I'm looking for is a young dog, young enough that I can train him/her myself. But not so young that you're not quite sure what the coloring/ angulation/ and build will be. I will say this, 'Only in America' has the total package in my book, he's simply exquisite, and I kneel down and tell him that everytime I get to see him. Dale Young has quite a boy there. Patriot is well on Daddy's heals too!

Maybe I will give this fella a holler. You're right, around here, if they don't hunt, well they don't stay. Hunting performance comes first around here, if they are good enough to show, that's a perk for me....

OK, look. I'm not looking for an arguement out of you or anyone else for that matter. Seeing as I don't consider myself a "TOP BREEDER" {seeing as we only breed every couple of years} it really shouldn't matter. I surely to God didn't say I was looking for a BREEDING PAIR of each breed. 'A' hound from other breeds. By the way, do you only have one breed in your kennel? For me, I'm not color blind.

GOOD FOR YOU! We were strictly redbone for quit some time. Added a walker to the kennel spring 2006, kind of went astray then...

Now we have 4 reds, 2 walkers, an english, and a bluetick. Diveristy sure beats color blindness! Our red girl is the fastest, first at the tree, most furocious little red you'll find. The english male sure has her back! They have this divide and conquer team thing down... can't wait to finish them off and start competing!

The walkers are just pups, 8 wks old but love a hide! Blue girl is out tonight hunting with the redbone, both are also CH. English male is 5 pts. from CH. Young red male is layed up for a while, he was shot by a teenager hunting in July. 3 yr. old GRCH male is a dependable hunter, as long as you're not near water! LOL, won't step foot in it.

We aren't in this to be a top breeder, we do it becuase we ENJOY our dogs. No matter what color they are. But we do expect them to be hunters and look good doing it! I hate an ugly dog about as much as a lazy one.

Good luck in your search, we have a litter of Only in America (dam's sire) x Machine Gun Jack and heavy Sidearm (sire) pups due 9-22 but that's probably to young for you...

If your plot falls through, take a look at DCTkennels little plott female. Recently put her up for sale and she's got some nice wins on her already.

Sure will,

Both sire and dam are on our website if you want to take a look. Peds and pics on there. Need to get some updated photos but you'll get an idea anyways. Also pics of the sires previous litter in photo gallery.

Are you bored tonight, or just been hittin' the bottle a little too much?

BTW, what makes a TOP BREEDER? Do you count how many litters that are on the ground? How many stud fees you collect? How many wins wether on the bench or in the woods?
As for buying, selling and trading.....NAH, I know what I'm looking for when I purchase a pup. I think in the last 14 years we have only sold 2 hounds, other than litters of course, one was because the male pup turned out to be an airhead. The other was a female that we chose from a litter that we produced, made her a CH, and desided not to keep her in our breeding line up. By all means I am not a dog trader, and many people on this board know me personally and can attest to that.

Wether we're talking about TOP BREEDERS or WELL KNOWN HANDLERS, there aren't too many out there sticking to just one breed anymore. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Willie has a tendancy to throw pups that are black at birth. Mature into dark red adults with black dorsal stripes. People are split about that, most either love it or hate it. I'm with you, I love a deep rich dark color.

Blueticking it I dont know who you are but if someone wants to have more then one breed of hound in the kennel thats their right to .
and if anyone can do it and make a better bred hound I believe redneck_girl can she is a great person and looks for the best characterristics in a breed to improve the breed .

LOL... Alan... Could I keep this quote please? I REALLY like it! You got me laughing...
Redneck girl, GOOD LUCK! Hope you find what you're looking for! I started out on herre not caring for red ticks... Saw some in Treed Pix... then saw some in person... I even like a couple of nearly white redticks now!LOL... live and learn is my new thing...LOL... Color doesn't matter when they're on a tree! I could see having one of each color if I had the opportunity (which I never would).....
HAVE FUN! HappyHunting and showing, Heather
