big coon

i got a live trap coon from a farmer today, and it's a big boar, i was wondering how much weight do you think a coon will put on before hibernation. i weighed this coon at 42 pounds in the live trap, i figure my trap weihgs 5 to 7 #'s that put the coon at 35 to 37 #'s how big do you think he would be in mid november.

Always seems the biggest coons go in the smallest traps. Got a fellow down the road that traps em for me and the biggest coon will be in the little trap and the smallest in the big trap. Thats a BIG coon you got there.

I dont know...if you let him go in an area and offer it feed until fall, it could reach 20 pounds or a little more. He's a nice one.

WOW!

We don't grow them like that here in MA! We're Just getting them back now after distemper took them years ago and Darn it isn't there RABIES one town over in a coon!?!!! Grrr...
That's a nice one and healthy! If I saw one like that around here I'd be thrilled...or Scared! LOL.... We did have a 20 lb POSSUM.... apparently they thrive despite humans.
Keep OPEN LANDS and fight hard to keep hunting alive! Those of us who live closer to the cities see first hand how growth is killing off nature!

Happy Hunting! Heather

I've never even heard of a coon weighing 54 lbs. Down here in Ky a 20 lb coon is a big one. I know they are a lot bigger up North but 54 lbs.
