Why does everything always have to be in Indiana?
Every big event that UKC has, other than Winter Classic, is in Indiana. Now the world has been put there.
Why not use a place that is more central to all hunters from different states? Just would like to be able to attend all these events without having to miss a ton of work. Im not rich and cant afford to miss so much work because I would have to travel to Indiana for so many events.

Look at the scores in Tennesee. I would suspect a hound would need to go hunting good to win. It may take the hot nosed pot lickers that won't go looking for a coon out of contention. How about the idiots that open on everything and nothing that take their circle and don't get treed. There sure behind the eight ball in thin coon. I believe moving the hunt to locations of different terrain is needed. Thin coon to thick coon populations from year to year. Give the different types of hounds opportunity to shine.

I would think you boys in thin coon would love it up here.If a dog can tree a coon down there he she as hell can tree on up here.I know alot of guys round here got dogs that go hard,leave alot of coon behind em too.No snakes or alligators either.Most nights you dont have to listen to a dog go all night to tree one.

The main reasons are: (As I understand them)

1. Club support and people to support the hunt

2. Location to hotels ect

3. An area big enough to handle the crowd (Facilities)

4. Enough hunting space

those are the biggest reasons.

I know we had black and tan days here last year in MO I thought it when well and I guided all three nights. All three casts placed in the hunt. I think it is a good place to have it, but people cry if they think they can't score 1100+

Some of the most memorable hunts I have been on is the hunts where several coon have been treed and big scores are posted. A top notch coon dog in thick coon should be a top notch coon dog in thin coon. A treedog in thick coon may resemble a coon dog but in thin coon may come up very short. Never hunted in Indiana but sounds like you better have a treedog. I would sure like to make it to the Nat. blue hunt in May just to check out the Angola area.

I would like to see the event in Mississippi at some timein the future. Starkville has already held the Futurity, and is close to alot of WMA and core land that is really great hunting. The SKC world hunt has been held down the road in Columbus. They have proven to be able to accomadate the crowd, and would be a good location.

Maybe they should do the world hunt like BBOA,and BBCHA do there hunts.Have a North World Hunt,and a South World Hunt to accomidate the different styles of hunting.Or better yet,have the world hunt in a central location,and call it a World Hunt giving everyone a reasonable distance to drive,and chance of competing.

I went to Indiana for Oaks a few years ago and coon are not as thick everywhere in that state as other places. We had a non hunting guide and at the end of the night I understood why. Every place we turned loose there was a path beaten down in the weeds where they had been hunting. The guide even told us where they would tree when we turned loose. This den, that den, and so fourth. One spot all four dogs split and when I tied mine and went to the other tree I couldn't find him cause the briars were so tall and thick. He shut up when I tied him cause it was hot and dry and I had to wait for him to bark to find where I tied him. We saw one coon sitting up down the fence from one guys dog and that was after the hunt. So all those dogs trained in thin coon have a chance also. You can go hunt there and I'll go where you can tree in the road ditch and have a coon. It was a lot more fun. Good luck and hope to see ya there.
