Doug
Thanks for the pedigree, was just now getting around to gettin it posted today.
It was Merchant that bred old Harry. Tim Ball has rode on the shirt tails of all of the great breeders in our breed. He has a lil money and a ton of Bull, I guess thats all it takes to promote dogs to most hunters out there. In Stylish Harry's defence, if bred to the right kind of gyp he threw some nice dogs, however, most were just treedogs. %'s or not I have hunted with a ton of them, I live in "Harry Country" and there is definitely a bunch of them around. In case you were wondering IMO Tim Ball isnt worthy enough to blow the dust off of Mike Dohoney's shoes....Its just an OPINION but its MINE.
In Boones defence on his %'s, Mike Dohoney once told me prolly 50% of his pups went to pleasure hunters and never saw the hunts. He also said that was fine with him, pleasure hunters are way harder to please than a competition hunter anyday.
Another fact is ...every dog out there had to come from somewhere, whether it was an accidental breeding or years of hard work by a responsible breeder.
Jim Whitehead...a question for you is.....
Are you related, associated with or in cohorts with...
A. Terry Cline
B. Mac M.
C. Bill Johnson
or
D. All of the above????
I mean...it seems like you are all taking hits from the same crack pipe. Always so negative about everything and frankly I am bored with it.
