$10,000 Judgment for Shot Dog
On February 22, 2009, Allen Gladden of Flintstone, Georgia was hunting his beloved bluetick, Gator in Walker County, Georgia, when Gator was shot and killed by Michael Melton, a resident of Walker County. Mr. Gladden filed a civil suit in Walker County Magistrate Court and also made application for criminal warrant in the same court. Michael Melton filed for a criminal warrant for tresspass against Allen Gladden.
The Court heard all actions at the same time on Friday, April 17, 2009. After hearing all of the evidence, the Court dismmissed Melton's application for a tresspass warrant, and reserved ruling on Gladden's civil case and warrant application.
I have just received the Order of the Court, and am pleased to announce that the Court found probable cause to issue a criminal warrant for the arrest of Michael Melton on charges of felony cruelty to animals, and found in favor of Plaintiff Allen Gladden with a judgment in the amount of $10,000, plus court costs, plus post-judgment interest. A GOOD DAY IN COURT FOR ALL COONHUNTERS IN THE STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!
