I have a Blazer belt light, the first model they ever made. I never had any problem with any plastic rivets popping out, I don't think they have plastic rivets. I do have a problem with having to soilder wires back because the original wasn't made for such a big fellow as me and as much as I bust my tail I was putting a strain on the wiring. It was no problem just to zap them back on though. I can't complain about anything else about it, it is over three years old and it still holds a charge for a couple of WEEKS of hunting. It's still very bright but it is a little on the heavy side because it is made with D cell batteries, but that is also why it is so bright and holds a charge so good. However, being a belt light, even though it is a little heavy when you pick it up, it is not heavy at all when it is on because the weight is evenly distributed and it is way more comfortable than even the lightest side lights.
That said, I like the Light Connections belt light better because it is only 2 pounds total and it is even more comfortable than my Blazer. Since it is made with NMH batteries it is more compact and I won't have the problem of soildering wires back to batteries (which was the only fault I had with the Blazer). Plus the Light Connection has a nice reostat switch instead of a click switch so you can turn it down as low as you want. The Blazer I have is too bright on the first click for summertime trees.
So, all in all I would have to recommend a belt light so long as it is quality made. Most folks didn't have to soilder even the old Blazer lights like I do because most people don't weigh 285 and fall all on top of it all night. I understand the new Blazers are made better plus he has some to fit us bigger folks better which would also have cut down on my pulling wires of the batteries.
I can tell you right now me and lights and these mountains don't go together too good. I can tear up any light. As much as I fall I bust cases on box lights, rip cords out of heads, knock knobs off switches and more or less destroy lights. The Belt Light held up really good considering LOL.
When I buy another light it will definately be The Light Connections belt light, I know belt lights hold up better over all and I also feel that his light will be better about not pulling wires just because of the way it is made.
