I don't get the Bloodlines magazine and can't get the hunt schedule to come up on my computer. I used someone else's computer to write some UKC hunts down that were close to home this month. I drive 35 miles one way to a hunt this afternoon. I get to the club at 7:20, and when I walk in the door they tell me I'm too late to hunt. They had already drawn the casts out and said that the deadline was at 7:00.
Now for my question: WHY WHY WHY does a UKC club have a deadline at 7:00 in the middle of the summer when it doesn't get dark until 9:00??? Would it not be easier to make the 7 and 8 o'clock deadlines to go along with the time change? Can someone please check on the internet and tell me what time the deadline on here says?

there were 4 hunts in tenn. tonight 3 of the 4 were a 7:00 pm deadline with the 4th one at 8

UKC doesnt set deadlines each individual club sets their deadlines for the hunt and show.

Now can someone please give me a logical explanation of why a club would set the deadline to a coonhunt 2 HOURS before it even gets dark enough to go hunting!

Someone said they make the deadlines so early because it is winter when they make the schedule. Maybe, maybe not.

Somebody probably just didn't catch it, in time. Without knowing the situation, I agree it doesn't make sense.

I'm PKC hunt director for my club and I've been meaning to change our PKC hunt deadlines from 8:00 to 9:00 for the summer months. Thats my fault. If someone gets to our club 20 minutes after the published deadline, thats THEIR fault.

That don't make sense 9 is about right this time of year.

JW...saw Jackie the other day he said Gibson was having buddy hunts on Thurs. nights. Do you know for how long?

We use to have a club in this area that had 6:00 summer deadlines, the sole purpose for which was to keep entries as low as possible. Those hunts would draw 3 or 4 clubmembers, by the end of the summer they all had their pups titled. That club doesn't exist anymore but the idea is prolly still around.

As far as I know, they'll have them until coons season comes in. The one next week is $60 added I think. I haven't been to one yet.

if they move it to 8 our 9 nine there may have been more people and harder to get that win on the ole pup.................this club my need to be investigated by the ukc police...........lol

The first hunt our club had after time changed, wea at 7:00, but it was because when the dates were submitted we didnt think about time change. Just a simple mistake. I know we all sat around for a couple of hours waiting for it to get dark LOL

Jody they are 1 hr hunts at gibson. I think they are going to have them all summer long. why haven't you been at any hunts?? missed some good ones at ripley, and at huntington and camden this weekend. me and smoke won our ntch cast last night but the other cast came in with a better score..... nite ch rules suck sometimes lol.....
