Coon Training in the wild

Just wondering if there is a market out there for a place to hunt that is not inside a fence. I have plenty of coons and real no threat of traffic...... Hardwoods, creek bottoms, and plenty of fur. I have had plenty of coons in my deer cams each time I check to let me know I have a good population. I am located in Pine Tops NC and I have a club house we can stay in that beats most. Let me know, we can start anytime and when killing season comes I need these coons killed. I am trying to get a good turkey population going and coons are on my top of the list to get rid of. Just let me know.. Price is 10 dollars per dog per night and 5 dollars per night if you decide to stay over. Thanks Deep Red

How many acres? Private land? Who owns it?

I have about 1500 acres, I lease it as a deer hunting club but I have no one who hunts coons and I want to get rid of them once season comes in. They eat my corn and I don't want them to eat my bird eggs ( turkeys, quail, ect... ) I run also a bird hunting club/ hunting perserve from end of Jan til the end of March. Coons and eggs don't go along too good..... Just trying to get some people to come on in and run their dogs without having to wonder if a car or truck will get them. Hope this answers your questions and if you have more let me know. Thanks Deep Red

I'd be glad to come up your way and help out. Problem is that the use of my dog is worth more than $10 a night and for my dog to stay over takes more than just $5. What's the bounty per coon?

Sounds to me like your the one with a problem bud.

You come on here asking us to do you a favor then want to charge us for doing that favor. I won't even get into the fact that you leased up all that land and would under ordinary circumstances more than likely run off any dog hunter that came around.
I fully understand the problem you have with coons I'm a turkey hunter myself and have an overabundance of coons on the homeplace in South Alabama. If I really wanted them thinned I would be more than glad to offer access to a hunter that wanted to kill a few coon.
I just think it takes alot of gall to ask for a favor and charge for it.
BTW check the fur prices. You can't even give away southern coon.

I'd be glad to pay $5 or $10 a night to hunt a place with bunches of coons that I could put out on my pups. I've paid more than that for a coon in a cage. Who cares if you're paying someone to hunt on their lease! I don't have enough pride that I can't pay someone to take me coonhunting or pay to hunt on their land!

Few questions. Do you have a yearly fee like for the deer hunters? Also are your deer hunters educated in the facts about coonhounds/hunting? I would hate to see someone come up for a coonhunt then have their dog shot becouse of someones ignorance. Although most of us like to have free access to hunting land I think what your doing may help bridge the gap between the dog, still and turkey hunters.

I think this is a good deal.

I dont know what the future holds, but Im pretty sure the days of hunting for free are numbered.

Around here wood land is bringing 3-$6,000 per acre....15 years ago you could have bought the same land for 4- $600 an acre.

Whatever the reason they are buying, they are making a substantial investment when they buy land....and its just as easy to shake your head side to side as it is up and down.

Deep Red,

If you can't handle a little message board smarta**ing with out wanting to start a fight then I suggest you come down to bama and find out about the name. You just go ahead and shoot anything that goes up to save your precious deer feeders and while your at charge the heck out of your fellow hunter. To each his own I guess. This is the last I'll post to this thread and the offer stands to come on down if you feel like it you'll find me on the river bank of the Black Warrior river, aka the warrior.
