Want your opinion!

On a 3 dog cast a couple weeks ago. I had a dog that was in the cast that was afraid of lightning and thunder this dog was hiding under one of our trucks while the other 2 dog hunted. We made 3 trees and when we got back to the trucks it had got in an open dog box.Since we could not see this dog most of the hunting time (we used almost 80 minutes) I assummed I could not scratch him for failure to hunt? What I want to know is would you have scratched him for not hunting? This dog ended up winning the cast at the end of the hunt! The other 2 dogs in the cast ended up minusing out!

I don't think you should have been able to scratch him.

You had no idea

where he was til you got back to the truck & then found him. Far as you or anyone else knew, he had been hunting up until you guys got there, he beat you there by 5 minutes lol . NO, you could not scratch him for not hunting, if you couldn't actually see he was not hunting! NOw hanging at your feet or moving barely out of you hunting light is a whole nother ballgame!

6. DOGS WILL BE SCRATCHED:

d. Failing to make any attempt to hunt within any 30 consecutive scorecard minutes.

You have to be able to prove that he was not hunting for 30 consecutive minutes. If he won the cast, then he must have had plus points.

I was judge.

I didn't scratch him pretty much for the reasons mentioned above. Had a couple hunters tell me they would have. I just wanted some opinions! What hurt was my dog was leading the cast into the last dump. My dog wouldn't tree with him! Wonder why?My Dog minused twice/ minused out!
