Well UKC is all about prestige right? cast wins don't pay , don't even get a win slip at most places anymore, aside from the TOC major events don't pay great. But the prestige was the allure , Titling dogs out trying to get HOF, Maybe you liked breeding and getting on reproducers list, or you win a big event and you have a photo and magazine to hold on to forever. the picture with a dog on the cover with a trophy is what many people strive for, not facebook that gets lost online within a week or by the next big event, having a the magazine you had something to share with others around you to show them , kids, grandkids, friends, family or whatever. loosing that and the forum also cuts people out . folks don't have FB and i don't blame them and some don't use this forum either but they like getting the magazine. Weak excuses and trying to simplify" things into social media and quick posts. So much for prestige. Times change and the Stud dog game was definitely different and more advertised 20 years ago but does not mean the pages lost there cant be replaced with other Coonhound related information, pictures, stories, history.
Could just release a quarterly Magazine or a once every two months, bump the subscription price up a little or whatever , I don't feel and many I've talked with don't feel getting rid of the magazine or forum is a smart move.
